HPS Bulbs and setup?

Plugged 'em into what?? Oh, I see.....dude, read the 1st one....It says CFL socket.... which looks like a lamp cord without a lamp to me....but I digress..... you screwed up bro. Return that crap if you can and do your research...... The cordset for that bulb will have a special plug that only fits an HID ballast...and the proper size and type ballast is required to operate the bulb. When you buy a proper HID light, it should have ballast, cordset, socket and bulb.....generally with at least a crude reflector........go to htgsupply.com.....that's about as cheap as they get.....

Got any recommendations?
Don't want to spend a great deal on that alone, as I have just bought a load of other stuff for my grow.

The ballast is the most expensive part of the lighting setup. Be prepared to spend a bit if you want to get this up and running.

The link you provided might work but the ease of wiring it up is going to depend on your electrical skill. I wouldn't have a problem doing it but I know others that wouldn't even bother.

Honestly dude........really bad idea.........you didn't know the difference between a cfl and an hid......now you're gonna wire up a ballast without a wiring diagram??? Please......don't electricute yourself.....just stick with flouros until you can afford a real light built by professionals...........
