yep - you gotta know what equipment you'll be putting in it and draw it all out before picking up a saw or hammer.

you need to think about how much space your system (soil or hydro) is going to take and the lighting system also. And how you'll mount your lights, fans, any ductwork odor control.

and you don't want to forget to make sure you planned enough room for the plants to grow!

Here is something i've been working on but it addresses what you'll need out of a grow space/area (but does not get into the equipment...yet)
====
The Grow Room or Closet

Before we can begin growing, we have to make some decisions regarding where to grow and what equipment to use. That's what this section is all about. But before we start making a shopping list and knocking out walls, let's decide where we're going to grow.

The ideal grow room should have the following qualities:

Clean - you don't want to give a lot of dust, mold, mildew, insects, or other unpleasant things easy access to your plants.

Climate controlled - you want an area that you can have some control over the temperature and humidity.

Secure - you don't want your garden to be accidentally or easily discovered. Some advice I heard was there should be no less than two locks between the outside and your plants. We'll also need to make sure we can control any odor emanating from the plants.

Easy Access to Water Source - this one is often overlooked. You don’t want to be running a garden hose through your bedroom or carrying heavy buckets of water up and down many flights of stairs. Not having easy access to fresh water can take the joy out of gardening.

Easy Access to Fresh Air - somehow, someway, fresh air must be able to enter the growing area, which infers a way to exhaust hot, stale and often very smelly air will be necessary.

Easy Access to Enough Electrical Sockets - provided it is convenient, heavy-duty power cords can be used to bring electricity to the garden. Often, it is necessary to add circuits to accommodate the electrical requirements.

Light-Tight - Finally, you'll want to be able to make your grow space light-tight. That means no light should be able to enter or leave the grow area. You want to keep light from exiting to prevent it from attracting unwanted attention. And no light should enter as to not disturb the plants photoperiod.

Fire/Water Proof- don't want anything easily ignitable in there. Also, a way to catch leaking water can save you much more than just money; especially if you have downstairs neighbors. One good idea is to put the whole thing in a child's plastic swimming pool to isolate any floods.

I'm sure a few areas spring to mind. Closets, basements, attics and spare rooms all have their pros and cons. You can also purchase a grow tent. Building or modifying a cabinet is also a very popular option.

It is best to accurately sketch out the area you plan to use and draw in where all the components go.

you either build the box and then build/buy the equipment that will fit. Or you build/buy the equipment you want and build the box big enough for everything to fit. don't forget about room for the plants to grow.

well all you have to do is build your box, cut out 2 holes in the front of the box big enough to put speakers inside.(u might wanna buy or find the speakers befor you cut the holes) place the speakers inside and seal it up. (im not an expert on glue) and buy some of that black foam that goes over the speaker and cut circles in the foam, the same size as the speakers. and wala, you got yourself a speaker or sub woofer. do be really crafty and stealthy, make the entrance to your grow room in the back of your box, so that way from the front it still looks like a speaker. and make everything inside shakeproof, or rattle proof, incase you have any little kids around and they like to mess with things, the wont kno its any diffrience because it looks and feels just like a speaker. oh and here is a note, DON'T PUT THE SPEAKER GROW BOX ANYWHERE A SPEAKER WOULDN'T NORMALLY BE" that could be your down fall, because i know a kid who it happend to. but insted of a speaker it was a cooler, and he up the cooler in his laundry room. lol. well i hope i helped at least a little. good luck to u and happy growing!
