I'm not trying to be a smart ass here I'm in Colorado and there is a serious green rush going on here people moving here to grow, over 400 dispenseries opened in the last several months 3 within 4 blocks on broadway 2 on federal just 3 blocks apart, it's crazy and they are given out 400 to 600 cards a day with over 30,000 patients so far

the best part is the weed is crap (with a few exceptions) one disp is selling mex swag one sells clones that are not rooted, LOL there are a lot of disp's being opened by NooB's that have the fever and don't know shit

Right now demand is higher than supply but within months it will turn the other way
hahaha that's funny

You're in CO too riddleme? Then you definitely should know how easy it is to get rid of your crops. Right now at least haha.

I agree the price will soon plummet, but I think it will take longer than you do.

You say dispensaries are crap "with a few exceptions"? I haven't found those few I guess. I haven't looked that hard though. Do you know one that is good?

When I first got my card I was soooo excited but then...

I didn't really find anything that blew my mind. Have you?

I think if you have to ask a question like that about a grow that size, then you aren't ready to do it.

GOD DAMN nothing but hate on this thread.

I know I'm not ready to do it. If I were to invest the time and money in order to get ready to do it, I want to know first that it would be worthwhile. It is BECAUSE I'm not ready to do it that I'm asking the question.

Hey Don I am for sure not hatin on you just trying to offer solid advice and Illegal is one of the good guys here! I have never seen him hate and his advice is always spot on, so I feel safe in sayin that no hate was intended

there are a lot of experience growers in the Colorado thread (and noob's) you'll get good advice there too if you look

I am happy to help if you want to go big, I am currently teaching a class on how to grow for bigger yields (personal med grows)

You're obviously not understanding the point of my question. I'm not going to go out and buy thirty clones and expect to harvest pounds in 2 months from today. I want to know if I SHOULD take the time to start small and learn what I need to learn, or if I should just forget about this because it's not worth the time I would put into it.

Can someone just answer the question please? It's not that hard. If you, not me, had a 30-40 plant garden, what type of return would you, not me, expect in an average flowering cycle?

BTW riddleme, I've been sifting through that CO thread thanks for the tip. I am almost all the way through it though and haven't found any positive dispensary reviews really.

Hell just ask and you'll get a lot of answwers

my current grow is one 21 inch tall plant that I expect to get a few oz's from

if I was going 30 or 40 plants I would make em bigger and expect 4 to 6 oz from each, so maybe 10 lbs prices here in CO are going for $4000 a pound for the good stuff ($3000 for medium grade)

you can do the math, oh and you could hire me :bigjoint:

Thanks

I guess here is the real crux of my Q:

How should I design the grow op to maximize production on that scale? Is it better to harvest smaller plants more often, or let them grow larger? Which produces more in the end? (rule of thumb)

I'm sorry for the "noob" questions but I like to be prepared before beginning an endeavor. The whole trial-and-error process wastes too much time IMO. I want to survey my options then focus on one and dive into it headfirst.

There are so many different ways to grow and the most important answer to your question is to plan

to be successful at anything you need a good plan

so let me answer your question this way,,,

if I had the $$$ to go big I would get a warehouse and grow big 4 to 5 ft bushy plants (not trees) I would set the warehouse up with several different grow rooms and run perpetual ( harvest a different room every month)

many would say things like sog would be better but I like soil ( a big sog would suck in soil, lot of work) I would just let em grow, my way requires very little work :bigjoint:

Jesus people reply fast in this forum I can't keep up.

I have not decided on what type of system I want to use as far as soil/soil-less.

Also I am aware that yield depends on many factors, including skill which I currently lack. If I took the time to gain it and had average conditions, what type of yield then?

There will probably already 5 new responses by the time I post this.
Life in the fast lane.
