Hope everybody is having a good start to the New Year. I was until I opened my cable bill. It went up over $30 a month! WTF???????? Don't they know there's a major recession going on right now. I don't have anything fancy, just internet and basic digital cable (No pay channels). I'm totally leaving Comcast as soon as I figure out what is going to be better. Hey Comcast:finger:. Anybody else pissed about being screwed by Comcast?

dish sux too! i cancelled that shit and ate the $300 penalty. nothing but problems. everyday, everyday there was something. froze up like a puddle in the winter, repeatedly. wanted to help me by sending someone out to take a look, for a fee. i only had it a couple months....

Good to know. That is one of the avenues we were gonna look into but now...............I don't know. Thanks for the heads up. :weed:

Average broadband in UK is about £12.99pm for only 2mgb's so I know where your coming from. Mine is £14.99 which is about $25 just for internet, not wifi or anything else.

Why are they jacking up people's bill that much? And during a recession? Good luck trying to get Comcast customer service. :cuss: Doesn't seem as if they even have customer service.

i know people who just love the dish though.... my brother lived in oregon and he said every time the wind blew the pine trees around, the thing would have to go through all the steps and re-acquire the signal. maybe it's in my jeans........

Greedy pricks. It just pisses me off (obviously). Things are tight everywhere and a business raising their prices significantly during a recession seems like a bad move. Believe me, I will find a cheaper alternative. I'm not going to roll over and pay that shit. :fire:

direct tv is alright if your looking into something new
Theres just never anything on since theres no on demand im about to cancel this shit and just hook up my tv with the qam tuner and get free HD.

It's just bullshit. I was paying around $125 for basic digital cable and internet. And then they go and add $30 to that already enormous bill. What the fuck am I paying for? I'm all for a business making money but come on! They have to lose business because people simply can't pay that shit in this economy. :fire:

i would suggest direct tv the only thing bad aboiut direct tv is you are on a contract but there are ways tyo get out of it. they also have the best packages for the best prices in my opinion i will never switch from direct tv. on demand video is lame anyways get a dvr box and record your shows and you will be in heaven

That's probably what I will end up doing: Dish or DirectTV. What about internet. I'm spoiled by high speed cable which I'm told is better than DSL. What are my other options for reasonably priced high speed internet?:bigjoint:

In the old days we had free TV. We had these things called antennas. Oh, right I still use it. The picture is superior since the signal is not compressed an there are alot more channels than there use to be with digital. Any thing else I need I get off the net.

Aaaah the good ole days. I remember when cable first came to our town when I was a kid. We paid like $18 a month back then which we though was a lot of money for TV. I sound like some old fart reminiscing about the old days. Shit I'm old!
