Well i have this Bubbler, it was origanaly made for clones, but i think i can have my regualr plants in them? So far i put one of them in a 2 inch foam piece with a 2 inch net pot. Will this be ok or is my little guy going to die, it is 1 week old and the root is about an inch or 2 long. The water is 75 degrees, there are 2 12 inch air stones in there, and the root is in the water about an inch, any help will be greatly apreciated and rep + will be givin

ive got an opinion man but im prob not the best qualified to give advice on DWC..
1 thing though, looks like ur milk leaves have exhausted their supply so u might wanna start with very light nutes..

i would say it should work just fine . how long has it been in there . also i would make sure light is not gettin in, sometimes when plastic is lite in color light can pass through.

You are doing everything right so far... good job... like above mentioned a light nutrient supplement should be bubblin in there. if u do have some nutes in there good job x2... you CAN keep your plants in there for the entire grow if u wish... good luck! +rep

thanks guys i will deff keep you all posted, if you want you can watch in my journal in my sig. I just transplanted them all in there, ill add a little bit of nutes in the water. Is it ok to put the nuts i would use in the soil into the water?

Edit: im not quite sure how many gallons of water is in there, i would say about 6-10 maby, and i put the chrome ducttape over the plastic to make sure no light got in

you will definitely need more lights, bro. Not right away, but very soon. You're ok for the moment, but as your veg period keeps going, they'll need it. Also, when it comes time to flower, the lighting you have will not be enough to trigger flowering, more than likely...

I hope you are able to find a way to get more lights going... It'd be nice if you could add in an HID light. Something like a 400W HPS light....You can veg and flower under it. That's what I recommend to anyone who can't buy more than one light. It's best to have a metal halide light for veg and an HPS for flower though, if possible. This can also be accomplished quite cheaply by buying a "switchable" ballast. set it MH for veg (with a MH bulb in it), and then switch it to HPS (and put in an HPS bulb) for flowering...

also, it looks like you are running water only at the moment, which is ok for now. But very soon you will need to add nutes. I'd suggest only going 1/4 strength when the plants are this young. Give them time to grow, then go to 1/2 strength....More time to grow, and then full strength. I see so many people get nute burn with young plants on this site because they "over-nute" thier plants...

And remember, for DWC, a pH of 5.5 is perfect!!! Try not to let it get below 5.3 or above 5.8 and you'll be fine...

you need to use nutrients specific to hydroponics... like general hydroponics or advanced nutrients. general hydroponics works well if your on a budget. Also a few flouro tubes or "y" sockets and cfls will need to be added, or investing in an HPS grow lamp that will be sufficient for both veggin and during flowering will grow very nice buds.

NO! You must buy hydro specific nutes. I would suggest using General Hydroponics brand nutrients. Specifically you want to buy the Flora Micro and the Flora Bloom bottles only. Use them like this:

8ml's / gallon of water Flora Micro
16ml's / gallon of water Flora Bloom

Change them out every 2 weeks. What I mean is, during that 2 weeks, just top off your reservoir with regular water. Keep your pH at 5.5. When 2 weeks are up, drain your reservoir out completely, and mix up a fresh batch of nutes.

You can use this strength of nutes all the way through Vegetative growth and Flowering. It works perfectly, and you shouldn't have any problems. But like I said, you MUST first work up to full strength. So, start out like I said, 1/4 strength, 1/2 strength, and then full strength..

Never measure the nutrients in the same measuring cup together. measure them out separately and add them to the water separately. If you mix the Micro and Bloom nutes together, they cause a nutrient lock up, and that's not good...

thank you both, hiesman and snutter, i will order thos nutes sometime this comming week, i am adding lights now there will be 1600 lumens on each plant. Ill post a pic when im done probly 30 more min. im going to trasplant them back into soil when they get alot bigger, i just wanted to try out hydro because its less mess and less space, and just strait up cool. haha but thanks again +rep please tell me how it is after i set up the lights, ill do it quickly.

how close is the bottom of your net pots to the water? there should be about a 2 inch gap between the bottom of the net pots and the water... the extra air helps the roots from what ive read

This isn't necessarily true. It's fine if the net pots sit in the water. You don't want your roots exposed to air, in my opinion anyways.

My net pots are in the water, any they do fine.

I woudln't suggest transplanting back to soil. What's the point? Just do the whole grow in hydro. I think once you get started in hydro, you'll never go back to soil. You're gonna love it in the end..

Anyways, lookin good for now. But you will still need more light after a couple weeks or so...

Under one 400W metal halide light I get 2 to 3 inches of growth per night!!!
