I was considerin when my harvest is done, using the plant and trimmings to make cannabutter. My question is this, can i use to whole plant or just branches and leaves? Also im assuming whatever i have i should use about 1 oz. minimum? Can anyone give me the scoop, im a new when it comes to making butter.

P.S.
Is there any part of the plant i dont need to use? And if im being extremely naive, please educate me, i want to do this right.:dunce:

you can use the whole plant, but really the trim and stems are the best to use, but let the stuff dry first so you dont get shitty tasting butter and save everything you trim in like a bucket, or paper bag and let it sit for a couple days. i would say about 40g would be a good start to using trim since there isn't as much thc as in the actual bud. hope i helped u out =]

more than you know! im definately going to have to save up on the trim, but when it comes to the whole plant do i grind it up into a fine dust before using it to make the butter? or simply chop it up into tiny pieces. when i say grind, i mean into powder. And thank you for the help man!

What I do is take off all the fan leafs and toss in trash. Then take all the sugar leafs (trich coated) and dry them out along with any accidental bud snips or lil buds. I use about 1 oz of bud leaf to 3 sticks of fatt butter and make 24 browines that stone you for 6-8 Great Hrs.
Take butter and melt in a pot of boiling water, then reduce heat to a simmer, add material and stir. Wait 40-60 mins before straining into a bowl large enough to hold all liquid. Set in fridge 4-12 hrs until the butter hardens on top of water. Then take butter out and should be like 2 sticks worth.
Don't play with butter once in bowl and cooling, it will cause material to float up into butter
