First Grow - Tips of leaves yellow spots

You can't really tell from the picture, but the tips of the leaves are starting to get small blotches of yellow. Also the edges of the leaves are curling up a little bit. I'm using CFLs to grow in soil. The plant is just under two weeks old. I have read that it could be too hot or that it could have something to do with nutrients. (Which I am using, but only used a very, very small amount.) Like I said, I'm very new at this. Any help?

I just hate that, from what I've read, it could be over watering, under watering, not enough nutrients, too many nutrients, or even a temperature problem. I don't really want to adopt a guess and check method.

I feel ya, my guess is overwatering on my end, how often do you water. Im buying a moisture tester today, but my plants looked incredible until this morning, and i didnt even water last night. My soil is still moist about 2 inches down, so im confused. Due to not watering last night, and also im not using nutes yet.

Look guys your putting too much nutes for those seedlings. Those are way small only 2 sets of leaves. I don't even add nutes in my hydro till about 6 sets of leaves. The yellowing is onset of nute burn along with the edge curling. The tips and the edges will be affected if it is mild. If moderate to severe the leaves will burn further up on the leave until they are crispy and dead. Ya dig?

Overwatering causes plant wilting in mild cases. Plant growth stopping to plant death in moderate to severe overwatering. Cessation of oxygen to the roots kills the plant. Overwatering might cause over fert in miracle grow time release potting soil because the fertilizer is broken down by the water. However, I don't know personally never overwater as its better to underwater so...

Yeah, thanks a lot man. I actually just read some stuff about that. I think I did add the nutrients a little early. (Just before the two week mark.) But I only used 1/4 of the recommended dose, so hopefully it will be ok. Assuming that the nutrients are the problem, is there anything I should do to correct this or will it work out on its own?

Flushing with water is what you do when you repeatedly overfertilize and the soil becomes toxic to the plant. This is done by lifting the pot over a basin and watering it with roughly 3x the normal amount of water. Then let it drain and reinstate in the grow. However, since you only applied a small amount only once the effects will be a one time matter. When a plant is knocked when its young it can take a few days for it to recover.

nutrient burn is the most likely you problem. try cutting the strength of you nutrient in 1/3 strength tell plant mature more
