Comcast sucks!

More then likely you were on some kind of promo deal and it just expired. Same thing happened to me with comcast. Except my bill is a lot higher :P

I have the 20mbit broadband, and all HD cable with all the premium channels. 2 months ago I got a bill for $230....I almost shat myself. lol

Long story short I called em up and threatened to cancel. They put me on a new promo and I am still getting the same services for 160/mo for the next six months.(when I'll have to call again)

I suggest giving them a call. They will lower the price.

WE DID CALL THEM!!!! They don't care about us and our measly $155/month. We've actually called several times and gotten indifferent call center employees and virutally nowhere. Comcast bought out our previous cable provider so we had a package from them with their pricing. Comcast pricing supposedly started a month or so ago and this is what we're getting now. Same crap we had before but for $30 more per month! It's bullshit I tell ya! Bullshit!:cuss:

You should look into a qam tuner most new lcd tv's have them built in and you can get a shitload of free HD and standard channels with it.As for dsl I found it to be perfect for me It doesn't take long to load at all my aunt has fios and there is no difference at all.Id go with dsl.But I've recently canceled my internet because I talked my neighbor into giving me the code to get onto her verizon fios and I got a 90% signal now.As long as I live here I will not pay for internet again.

This will tell you a little about the qam tuner http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QAM_tuner its just something thats built into most tv's that make it so you can just plug the cable into the back of your tv and you can get alot of free channels but some people have bad luck and it dont pick no channels up.
Verizon fios is just the name of verizon's internet and cable its nothing special

This totally doesn't surprise me. Sad because they don't need to be raping people like that. The infrastructure is already established so what are we paying all that money for? :confused:

I think it has a lot to do with what you say when you call. I called up to cancel my service (for the 3rd time lol). Of course when you tell them you wanna cancel they ask why. That's when you hit em with the price being too high, say something about directv has it cheaper yada yada. Next thing you know the guy will be offering you all kinds of promotional packages trying to keep you on board as a customer. Gotta play the game a little. You can't just call and be like "Hey man your prices are too high can you guys lower my bill?". I dunno it's always worked for me.:-P
I do have to agree though comcast customer service sucks major ass. Only reason I stick with them is because I use my home internet for work and they are the fastest provider in my area. If it wasn't for that I would probably swicth providers even if the price was more just to spite those bastards at comcast. :fire:

IM not even joking, i was about to start a thread on the exact subjuct! Only i have charter, but they suck just as bad. I used to have Comcast which was actually better than charter.

Hope everybody is having a good start to the New Year. I was until I opened my cable bill. It went up over $30 a month! WTF???????? Don't they know there's a major recession going on right now. I don't have anything fancy, just internet and basic digital cable (No pay channels). I'm totally leaving Comcast as soon as I figure out what is going to be better. Hey Comcast:finger:. Anybody else pissed about being screwed by Comcast?

So I go to visit a friend of mine this a.m. and I get there and there is a Dishnetwork truck out front. I go in and ask what's going on and she says they got their cable bill the other day as well and their cable and internet went up over $40 a month! They tried to get Comcast to lower it because her husband is laid off from work. They didn't give a fuck so she said ok go ahead and cancel our cable and internet. Comcast still didn't care and gladly cancelled her service. Fuck Comcast! :fire:
