Quake Live, awesome FPS and its FREE!

This is not an ad, just an FYI, I want everyone who love FPS to try this game because it is fucking free!

I think everyone on this site who loves games will appreciate this.

Okay, I know we have an arcade here at RIU, but seriously I found this great game called Quake Live and its completely free. Its a java game that runs in browser. I've been playing the game (although I'm not very good) and it rocks, especially because it is free. it took 10 minutes to load the intro to the site im not even gonna attempt to play it on this shitty mac.I think I played a game called quake before though on like xbox or something it cant stack up against call of duty

If not for Quake, there would be no Call of Duty as you know it. Id Software pretty much invented the first person shooter, not to mention the coding to render it in 3D. John Carmack is the man.

Damn right man, and i played quake live for the week it came out. I would recommend it if you haven't played.

COD is a much newer game, and Quake Live incorporates some of the nostalgia of the the older Quake games so the game play is bound to differ. Also, unlike COD, it doesn't cost any money to play the game (except for internet).

With Firefox 3.5 and the correct plugin your mac should run it, unless you are using a pre Mac OSX OS. I'm using a mac and it works fine for me.

Seriously though, we should get an RIU-Quake Live group going. I'm really not trying to spam, I just want to get a group of people on my friends list that has a common interest (like smoking bud).

lol I just checked I got mac 10.4.11 I think thats tiger or panther but I can barely get youtube videos to run decent im not gonna even attempt this.Is this game on ps3?

Couldn't tell you, but it seems possible that its on PS3 as well. I'm running the exact same OS as you are, and I think that your problem is that you need to update firefox to version 3.5, if you don't have firefox, get it because not nearly as much stuff is supported on safari. If youtube doesn't run well, it means you don't have the right plug-ins.
