I would like to have a meet and greet with like-minded professionals with an interest and experience in patient care/exemplary service standards and those that have a true love and understanding of horticulture. I would also love to meet with medical patients'caregivers and hear their ideas/recommendations/ and needs. If you are interested/mature(over 21) and want to share ideas about opening a Co dispensary were the patients needs /strictest organic standards/service and pricing come before anything else period!!!. Then send me a PM or email

VonDank. You are scaring me off with this line .. "strictest organic standards". Patient needs, service, pricing.... these are all things that really matter to the end user. Organics is just a means to an end. The plant does not care if the Nitrogen it uptakes comes from ammonium nitrate or carbon based decay.

I posted this in another thread but I like the topic so copy/paste time...

Hi Fellas! The "recipe for success" is just a gimmick to make you buy more pretty bottles. Basic complete nutrition is all you need.

* 'Organic' doesn't mean 'good' or even 'better.' In the case of reliable, repeatable, constant harvest ops, inorganic nutes are superior .... Organic nutrients are composed of complex biomatters (e.g. bat guano, worm castings, etc) which the plants can't assimilate directly. You depend upon organic nutrients to break down into N, P & K in the rootzone (at not always well-known rates) before the plants can eat them. May as well use inorganic nutes which are already in that state and also have a solid idea of nutrient strength and bioavailability.... ---- Al B FUCT

Saying that "all organic clubs obviously do better" is total crap. The end product is no different if the grower did his job. Organics itself is just a means to an end. All we are doing is supplying the plant with the base minerals in needs to grow. That's it. Chems are immediate available while organics waits for enzymes and beneficial bacteria to turn poo in a form the plant can use. Either way the plant is taking up the same ions via the roots. Don't go on about any imaginary health benefits or detriments either way without some studies to back u up. Organic food is no more nutritious, just costs more. Same ions. Plant don't care.

I'll bet you a harvest that in a random 5 sample, side by side test with properly cured meds you can't tell the difference in any way.

Thanks for the reply but I could tell the difference. Al B Fuct has my respect and has helped allot of growers on this forum and others. I have grown both ways and in my opinion organic bud is hands down better. Doesn't mean anything else is wrong just is the direction I am going with this...Thanks again for your input... Thanks for the response Danny. I'm just looking for my next grow to be a bit wider in variety and want to try a few of these well known strains out to see which one's I may want to grow on a regular basis. I've done some looking on craiglist and a few other places, but one thing I've noticed about a lot of the dispensaries is that they don't list the prices on their web page and are coy about what they actually have available. Since I'm new to growing I'm leery about taking their word on what the strain is, how easy/hard to grow it is, how it was cloned and grown to this point, etc, without some second opinions, so I was hoping some people might be willing to share their good (or bad) experiences in buying clones from various local suppliers.
This is a good link to get info on different strains, and they also have reviews written by growers with a lot of that info http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/

You wont find all the strains that exist listed, but you will find many of them.

I chose NY Diesel, Durban Poison, Opium, and OG Blueberry (personal favorite) to grow when I started because all were ranked hi, had good reviews, were Cannibus Cup award winners, and were available at the time.

I also picked up a Purple Passion recently, and one of my Blueberries may be a Mendocino County Purp (long story).

The Opiums are also wonderful mother plants, they branch like crazy and provide lots & lots of clones.

I hope the link helps some.

No when you have taller plants you arrange them with the bigger ones on the outside and the shorter ones in the center you adjust your lights to get 3 to 4000 lumens at the canopy of the taller plants called stairstepping or stadium seating I believe. You also want a minimum of 1 foot between each pot a foot and a half is better if you have the space

Paulinos has a light meter that reads to 10,000 lumens for like $24 (analog) and $49 (digital)
That's not what I meant. I mean if you're only growing 1 plant. I would imagine the light requirements would be different between the two different sized plants.

That's just a guess based on general knowledge & applied logic so I can be wrong.

 You mean as they got older they grew better? Interesting. :dunce::bigjoint:
QUOTE]

Well yes & no. I've been turning lights on & off based on temp that goes up & down with the outside weather since that's were I pull the air that the A/C uses.

Right now I have 2 on, yesterday it was down to 1, and a few days ago I had 3 on. I try to keep on as many lights as the heat will allow.

looks like we have alot of Colorado :leaf: on here!

Couple of questions.

1. Can we get our own Section on here? - the treads on this forum always get way out of hand and anyone wanting to search for information can never find what they want in 600 page threads..

2. Ok, So if i have a Card, and make Another person my Caregiver, Am i Giving up my right to grow my 6 plants?

3. Lawyers & Classes - Who is the best, what sort of information do they go over, and when is the next class. im ready to get educated on all these laws!

Ever seen the episode of "'Bullshit" on organic foods?

I say we do a blind taste test and see what's what.

Romer had CAVED to law enforcement!:cuss::cuss::cuss:

New medical-pot bill to restrict providers
By Jessica Fender
The Denver Post
POSTED: 01/11/2010 01:00:00 AM MST
UPDATED: 01/11/2010 01:14:40 AM MST

The fight to regulate the rapidly growing number of medical-marijuana dispensaries took a drastic swing toward shutting down the hundreds of Colorado storefronts after state Sen. Chris Romer announced Sunday that a pending pot bill would reflect the wishes of law enforcement groups.

The attorney general, sheriff's organizations and police groups want a five-person limit on the number of patients a pot provider — dubbed a "caregiver" — can serve.

Romer, a Democrat from Denver, said the bill reflecting that cap will likely be introduced once the legislative session starts Wednesday by state Rep. Tom Massey, R-Poncha Springs, who could not be reached for comment.

It's a stark departure from Romer's original bill, which would have required dispensaries to provide other health services and to register their products in a database for law enforcement purposes.

Romer, at one point the dispensaries' most vocal legislative champion, distanced himself from the new bill and said the concession follows a Friday-afternoon meeting with the governor and law enforcement representatives. He also blamed pot advocates for being too resistant to regulation.

"Almost all the cannabis people thought my bill was too restrictive. Maybe they need to wake up," Romer said. "When the sheriffs roll their bill out, they'll understand how reasonable my bill really was."

Romer will carry a separate bill to more strictly define the relationship between doctors and their pot-seeking patients, an idea that has remained the only common ground between law enforcement and some cannabis advocates throughout the debate. The language was once part of his original bill.

It's too early to tell what will happen to the new legislation, said former legislator and current Denver City Councilman Charlie Brown. He's carrying a city bill aimed at more evenly distributing dispensaries, keeping them farther from schools and imposing thousands of dollars in fees. That proposal gets a hearing tonight.

"This is the third time he's made changes. It's an election year. There's no telling what's going to happen. Good Lord," Brown said of Romer.

Brown added that the five- person limit "could be forcing (patients) back into the parks and back alleys."

Last July, the Colorado Board of Health rejected a proposal to limit marijuana caregivers to five patients each.

Cannabis advocates said if the new bill passes as is, it will snuff out the burgeoning medical-marijuana industry, but they remained hopeful that they can successfully argue for changes that will allow many of them to continue operating.

Matt Brown, executive director of Coloradans for Medical Marijuana Regulation, said his group and others will plead their case before lawmakers.

"Obviously, it's all very new and fluid," said Brown, who is unrelated to the councilman. "But we're ready to do whatever it takes."
Time to light a fire under your state senators and assemblymen.

True blind taste test would require that the buds came from other growers as I'm pretty sure both of you could recognize your own buds taste which would not be a fair test???

And I agree with Doog, there is no difference between properly cured buds

What's going on guys/girls? Just wanted to drop a line and introduce myself. I'm moving back to Ft Collins in a couple of months to get back to a culture that I enjoy. Lived back east (and south) in a couple of metro areas for the last five years... It's just not my speed, and the people 'suck', in my opinion (huge generalization that sounds ignorant, but...). So, headed back home and a lot has changed in the time I've been gone. Just wondering if anyone has any Ft Collins connects (ie, QUALITY dispensary, hydro store, trusted private caretaker, etc) that are in need of good help. A lot of friends and family have moved elsewhere, so I've lost many of my ties. I'm a MMJ patient that has experience in the industry (ie, all aspects of growing, products, customer service, patient care, marketing, etc), as well as a science and management background. If anyone has any info/leads, it would be much appreciated, just PM me. Thank you in advance, and I look forward to joining the discussion. Cheers, dak

I appreciate the feedback, bro! Does 'Westword Mag' have a website where such information would be listed? If not, do you think they would mail one out of state if I contacted them? I would love to able to check stuff out before moving, although if I have to wait... Thank again. Cheers!
