Thanks guys, things have really turned out great this run. It feels good to be able to put some nice pics up for you guys, and of course to be able to help some peeps get some primo medicine.
On a side note, I quit my job yesterday because I was tired of working 6 days / 60+ hours a week. So hopefully the next run comes out really good too cause daddy needs a new pair of shoes! lol
With that in mind, today is the day I have to gear up for the next run and get things started since I've put them off for too long already from all these hours I've been working. So this morning I took 23 top cuts off of the 2 moms that I had been keeping, which ended up taking almost a foot off the top of the moms. Thank god, cause I let these hoes grow too big as it is already! Normally I take my cuts from the bottom branches, but this time I just really had to lower these moms down some before things got out of hand. They were about 3' tall before I took the cuts, and about 26" afterward.
I also usually water with plain distilled for a week before taking cuts to lower the level of N as it helps the cuts focus on rooting rather than growing vegetatively. Once again, I've been so busy with work that I just didn't have time to mix up additional plain distilled in the week prior so they got fed with all the goodies and are green as hell. So this will be a bit of an experiment to see how much N really affects the clones taking root, and if it is a mandatory action that needs to be taken before the cloning process starts. These girls were GREEN, and thus should prove or disprove this theory one way or the other without a doubt. The rest of my cloning methods were standard and should be effective.
This time I tried something new...Hygrozyme! Mixed up water for soaking the Rapid Rooter plugs, spritzing, and watering the cuts in the days to come using distilled water Ph'd to 6.5 with 6 milliliters of Hygrozyme and a quarter teaspoon of Superthrive per gallon of distilled. Soaked the plugs, put in tray, took cuts on a 45 degree, dipped and spun in Roottech cloning gel, and inserted into the plugs. Sprayed all clones down with the same distilled mix, put on the humidity dome, and threw em in the dark for their first 12 - 24 hrs. Then it's a 24 hour photoperiod until they root after that. They'll end up in 18/6 for veg when roots are established.
Here's a few pics. I thought about doing a tutorial thread about this on the side, but ehh, there's like a million tutorials on cloning already. So I just snapped a few along the way to toss on here.
