wow that looks amazing..

what signs should I look for if I give too much 30-10-10? For now I'm going to stick with 1/4 tsp each water..

thanks again UB!

"Our" plan worked, I wouldn't change a thing. Amount and frequency of food application all depends on alot of factors - light, temps, water, vigor, etc. but you can go up to 1 tsp/gallon with good results unless your soil is loaded with some slow release plant foods like the meals. If you want to fertilize with each watering, I'd use AT LEAST 1/2 tsp./gallon. You're not gonna get alot out of 1/4 tsp/gallon, it's your anxiety and nerves talkin' here, not necessarily a sound practice. :D

Continue with the 30-10-10 or a 20-20-20 until flowering, then a few weeks into the stretch, start backing off the N a bit. Just read the plant's color and growth habit/vigor, my advice is not written in stone, it's still your call. Too much N relative to other factors like light received and the leaves will become a dark green, which really is pushing the N a bit. Well, maybe, maybe not. :) Go back to the photo I just posted. Notice how dark green those leaves are? I used a bit too much blood meal (N) when I put my potting mix together, BUT, it had no adverse affect, as you can see, it's flowering like a mofo. The finished colas were quite large and dense as a rock. There was enough blood meal in my mix to where I could faintly smell ammonia coming off the pot, meaning the microbes were fast changing the meal into ammonical N (which was gassing off) and then into nitrate N. But when you get the smell of ammonia, it's really too much.

You kick up that foliage a notch, and you're gonna reap some nice bud. It's just basic botany, nothing difficult, all very simply done.

Good luck,
UB

go hydroponics with a 20/20/20 mixedd at 1/4 teaspoon per gal with epson salt 1/4 teaspoon per gal ph at 6.0---6.5 water cycle on a timer 15 min 3 times a day and you cant go wrong very easy the only way to go

Hey UB I've been reading alot about nute's the last few days as I am trying to learn a little more about what I'm putting into my smoke. It seems you keep poping up in every thread. I have been growing for a few years now with just basic sunshine mix 4 with some extra perlite and the 6 part fox farm. However I have noticed alot of early yellowing towards the end of my flowering, and after some research on "N" you keep showing up lol. I definitely see where you (and many others) are coming from with all the hype around major nutrient companies selling false promises, and I'm starting to buy into your "keep it simple" theories.

I have to say, you sure know what your doing. Thanks for spreading the experience.

Few questions I'd like to ask you:
You mentioned you added too much blood meal.
I was wondering at what ratio you would mix blood&bone with a simple promix or sunshine mix? I assume its just simple MC products from home depot? Any other recommendations other than dolomite?

I am considering giving these simple npk based plant foods a try next to my FF. I was wondering which ones you would give highest praises. I have seen many of your posts you mentioned jacks (the same one from this thread) and corresponding classic blossom booster. Also I have seen Dyna-Gro, and one other that I can't remember right now
Other than the simple 30-10-10, and 10-30-20 is there anything else you would add to the pick up list?

My loyalty does not reside with those that sell their ideology to the stoner masses, i.e. canna, AN, Humboldt, hydro vendors, etc. It lies with getting the best results based on my foundation, my experience. I don't trust them. What I don't understand is the never ending problem with some of these companies pushing K over N. What in the hell is it with pushing this K macro anyway? It's function is limited when it comes to plant nutritional needs. For example, literally minutes ago I responded to a guy who couldn't understand why he was losing leaves and having necrosis issues from the top to the bottom? Come to find out he was using a FF 3-2-6, "Grow Big".

In about 30 gallons, about 2 cups of each.

Also I have seen Dyna-Gro, and one other that I can't remember right now (you used it in your 2007 massive tree's after you ran out of the meta that was discontinued in the U.S.) speaking of which, I wish I could find that thread again, lots of good info lol.

No. I have grown gardens from start to finish with simple additions of organic foods. You just need to play games and see.

Right now, yes, or I wouldn't have recommended what I did. I'll try to explain, but you need to listen to me, I know what I'm doing and ask certain questions so I can get to where we need to go. Why would you use a food designed for the flowering stage? You want to promote leaves now, alot of them.

I've used Foliage Pro for years, it's excellent, but it is also a food mainly used for hydro. It contains alot of Ca, and you're rich in Ca with your soil (oyster and dolomite) and such. An excess of Ca will induce a Mg deficiency which shows up as a chlorotic condition on the lower leaves. http://www.totalgro.com/concepts.htm

UB,
If i switch to FP in my drip would i keep using it into flower and just add the bloom product at that time ? Thanks.
