Ok.. i just had to chop my last grow. Hermie destroyed almost everything..Twas my first grow. Bagseed.
Now my friends I want to start over again. I have these strains to work with:

Cremia Blue (Barney's) 5-fem
Creamy Caramel (Sweet Seeds) 5-fem
L.A. Woman (DNA) 1-fem
Thai Super Skunk (G-13 Labs) 5-unknown.

Grow Room size: 2X4X5

FF Happy Frog soil and Nutes Trio, ALSO HAVE Jiffy Mix..Superthrive, Ph down, also have bottles of Schultz 10-15-10 and Vigora 10-10-10

So ...first .. I will clean the tent, fans, EVERYTHING to try and get rid of any pollen.
Next.. i plan on germinating with the paper towel method... I've never tried any other way. But for the money. I want to go with what has worked.
Lights. 350 watts of cfl different specturms. I'm debating on buying a T5 fixture or just grabbing a 400 hps for flower.
I plan on practicing cloning with these plants.
I'd like to try a scrog method for them.
I could grow one big LA WOMAN. or go with a few of my other seeds.
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU SUGGEST. seeds, nutes, methods, lighting.
Remember this is my SECOND grow so I'm imagining i'll run into plenty of problems.
Will appreciate and Rep for anyone with worthy, sensible, and experienced advice.
I love growing as we all do hope to become more skilled.. so I'm basically asking.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF IT WERE YOUR SECOND GROW??

please excuse the caps. just highlighting not yelling. :leaf:

i'd roll with the thai super skunk and go with the 400w hps for lighting..and try the FIM method and LST i bet u can get those thai super skunks pretty big by LST'n em..and u might wanna add some work castings and fish elusion to get ur N levels higher for veg.. veg N levels should be higher then everthing else and for flower the N levels should b lower then everything else

I'm aware of the basic nutrient needs, But The Thai is the only one i don't know whether its feminized or not. Plus .. im sure they're huge sativa's and i don't have alot of height ...hoping to go with the other indica dominate crosses i have

y is that?
Different strains react differently to things

one strain at a time allows you to dial everything in for THAT STRAIN

You can take notes (keep a journal) and learn what the differences are between strains, for future grows

and have a lot less overall problems

Just as you said it ..im a noob.. so you think i should try and scrog with a bunch of different strains.. doesn't make much sense. I;m trying to get advice. not argue. BTW. your welcome for the rep.

I say you go for the LA Woman and Skunk to start out with. Having 6 plants to take care of would be plenty for your second grow. I don't think you learn as much with just one plant. The skunk should be easier to grow based on its genes, just a guess. And 6 medium plants would fit in your space well. If you go with the skunk, try to keep the lights as close as possible, they will stretch.
Practicing cloning would be good, but be aware that there are potential problems with cloning feminized seeds.
I don't recommend doing any special methods, other than experimentation, if it can be afforded. It's good to know your plant naturally.
Go with your CFLs to start with, in a few weeks when they get larger, consider purchasing the 400 with either the MH or HPS, or both :bigjoint:. See how things go first.
I'll leave the soil / nutes to the experts in that area.
Good luck and happy growing :peace:

I have to disagree (politely of course) one may transpire better with 30% humidity and the other with 36% you CAN NOT learn this if you have more than one strain going

Learning to dial in the controlable variables is what makes an experienced grower

Agreed, more than one strain at a time complicates matters, but I would still go for multiple plants of the same strain.
I was not putting a lot of value on the LA Woman, probably because mine failed so miserably ;)

i definitely want to stick with one strain. I made the mistake of using different bagseed with my last grow and had plants that were 5ft tall and ones that were 2, it was hard to maintain with the cfls, but then again that's my fault for not lsting or topping to keep them all uniform

I have just finished a class on how to control everything in my NooB Advice thread takes awhile to read/follow it all but the secrets are there my friends :bigjoint:
