Hey guys I am a long time smoker first time grower. I am in the process of setting up a small grow area. I have a small area to grow in 3 x4 x 7, although it can be expanded from 7 to 10 feet high. I was looking at the following and like like some advise on ease of grow that sort of thing. The beans i was looking at are as follows:
Paradise Sativa Spirit
Paradise Wappa Female
Paradise Spoetnik #1 Female
Paradise Delahaze Female
Barney's Crimea Blue
Plus what do you recommend? I like more of the head vs body high.
Thanks for your time

Use the search engine to see if anyone has grown them. Searching under thread titles would give you the best results. If you find nothing here, go check out some other mj forums. Theres so many forums out there, you'll eventually come across one that has information.

I've never heard much about paradise seeds, but I know the Greenhouse pretty well. If you wanna peep my link you'll see my experiences with those strains. And any other breeders I've heard of I'll fill you in on.

Thanks OB. That was a good read. Are there really that many differences between the different seeders? Not being smart just trying to learn. Oh thanks Dave checked it out and registered too.

Yeah- there are definitely big differences between strains and the breeders that breed them. I've stuck with Greenhouse because they win so many awards and still have very reasonably priced strains.

But there are other breeders that are equally as good and arguably better.

You said you're looking for a pure sativa?

Those are some of the most difficult plants to grow indoor, based on my experience. It can be done- even easily- but if you're not experienced you may want to give Indica's a gander. I'm sure you'll appreciate their high, even if it isnt the Sativa high you may desire.

Thanks OB. I am still learning as far as this goes. I assume that is because the like to grow so tall? I have experience with house plants. but then again they are easier to grow. I cant wait to get my room done so I can get started. I have already ordered the mylar and 4 4' T-5's on the way. I am a little stuck on the 600w. Still looking for the right set up for the 600w before I buy it though. I am currently looking at either the GALAXY 600 WATT ELEC. BALLAST or LUMATEK 600 W 120/240 V DIGITAL BALLAST. Both can run either the Mh or HPS lights. Plus the Complete Fresca Sol™ Light System or GREAT WHITE 6 INCH AIR COOLED (8/PLT) everything I found is on Horticultral Source. Any advice on these choices? I dont have a lot of money so that is why I am asking. If i get the Sol system I figure I can just hook up my water line direct from under the house. Would this be a problem? Both the Galaxy and Lumentx both are 120/240 switchable and MH and HPS compatible. Any advise.

I've never bought from Horticultural source.... But I will rep HTGsupply. They've done me amazingly. At my door in 5 days, unmarked box. Free upgrades, extra bonus's in the box, and the best customer support i've seen behind any product.

I would also recommend the Lumatek 600 of the two that you recommended. And definitely go with the aircooled hood.

I've never heard of the Sol system? But are you planning on going hydro or soil? How much water are you thinking you are gonna need? Sounds crazy to hook water directly from the house. I like it crazy, but thats far out- never heard of it.

How much height room do you have? Why so attracted to sativas?

Ok the Sol unit is a water cooled light housing for the 600w light. here is the link ( http://www.horticulturesource.com/grow-lighting-systems-fixtures-movers-ballasts-sockets-reflectors-components-c21/reflectors-hoods-shields-parts-s24/sunlight-supply-complete-fresca-sol-8482-water-cooled-light-system-p5800/?osCsid=8212b7460ae80c86d6894ac13b6ed0cd )I am planning on growing in either soil or coconut(looking in to this method). I donot want to grow Hydro. My space is 3 x 3.5x 8. I am only planning to grow for personal use...well me and my elderly parents that is. At this point I dont plan on cloning or anything. I like the head high that sort of thing not the body lock. It seems more Sativa are head while more of the the body lock seems to be the Indcas. Can you recommend a timer for the lights and fans. There is way to much stuff out there. As far as I can tell The only things that will need to be on a timer is the lights and fans for intake and exhaust. Well I guess for the fans they would need to be on a thermastat of some sort. Oh checked out HTG. They seem more expensive and have less selection, but a good resource non the less. Thanks

Wow thats far out... Expensive, and you still need to cool the 50 (thats huge!) gallon rez. But it is sweet!

I will be using 2 400watts with air cooled reflectors and the cost of two reflectors and one 400 watt is only 263... and with my inline fans I should have no problem pulling heat off em.

I use home depot timers and an HTG timer they gave me for free.

Curious as to why you are anti-hydro. Its a great method, especially for what you need- as I am growing for the same purpose and with my current set up have been able to be self sufficent for some time. I struggled in soil- the yields and turn around time isnt the same.

Soil is the medium i currently grow in with my other plants. I have most of the stuff for the soil. Maybe after a few grows I will try hydro. Plus the fact i couldnt keep a pool or a hot tub right so well the confidence level with hydro real low. Need more research. I was thinking ,if i got Sol, attaching a line direct from the house to a valve to a thermastat or something then to the sole. I wonder how much that would raise my water bill. I know the 50 gal is just to keep it cool.
