Mystery Dutch Strain and Bagseed Grow

Hi all, hows the smoke? this is going to be my first grow journal. i decided to do a journal because of my recent purchase, a new tent. i got it today and i am so excited about my next lot of plants.

The tent that i got is a 1m x 1m x 1.8m diamond mylar lined tent. to start with i am using this tent for vegging my 3 little ones. they have spent the last 4.5 weeks under 87w of t-8 fluros and it is time to go under a 400w hps. this tent will become my flowering tent when the time is right.

The first pics are of just the tent and it setup i have also put in some pics of my girls in under the fluro setup. i am moving my setup in the tent very soon. i am going to post some pics of how it goes tomorrow. still waiting for the 400w that i am borrowing to get here. untill then smoke up and be happy.

i got a 100mm exhaust fan from my brother. he isnt using it anymore. ive put it in the exhaust sleeve and when i close up the tent i sucks the sides in. i am going to get a 150mm for exhaust and use the 100mm for the inlet. i am also wanting to get a carbon filter and a cool tube, are they expensive?

That sort of stuff you can get off ebay.. Try and look for the brand odorsok... I have found they are the easiest to maintain, as they have to be flushed with plain water every 9-12 months... Or I can go to the hydro shop for you and get my Lacey discount...

hey guys, hows the smoke? sorry its been a while but here are more pics. ive been busy with the 2 new pups. they are so cool.

today i went to the hydro shop and was told it could just be a ph problem causing the rusty thing, so among other purchases that i made i decided it was time for my own ph test kit. ive been borrowing my brothers untill now. the problem with the leaves has stabilised, but on my bagseed plant there is some damage to some of the leaves that i think has been caused by some sort of insect. you can see the damage in the pic. what could cause this and what can i do for bug problems?

the other thing i got when i was at the shop were rhizotonic, more ph down, dutch master veg nutes, a 150mm exhaust fan and a few bits for my 2 pot setup restucture so it fit in the tent with the other plants. i have 5 pots running in there now. my mate brought a cutting over to fill the empty pot tonight. he says it is one of his favourite smokes and he harvests 10 oz a plant under a single 400w hps. so lets see what happens now that i have four different strains going .

as you can see there has been quite good growth in the last week. the bagseed i think is indica dominant and looks so strong. even after a fat cutting was taken, it didnt stress a bit. my 2 mystery clones have really taken off since going into the tent and under the 400w hps. 2 days ago i decided to add a second 400w hps to the tent untill today it was hanging just at the front of tent due to heat issues, but now with the new fan it is in side the tent. i am only running the second 400 when it is cooler. i am able to keep it at 29 degrees celsius with 50-60% humidity with both lights on.

the little WWxWR seedling is starting to respond really well to going under better lighting. it did nothing for 2 days and now is growing quickly. this is the one that i am really excited about.

well all is good. i sorted out the problem with the leaves. ph lockout. flushed for 24 hrs and then added the nutes without any more probs.

since the last post i have given my mates unknown strain the axe to make room for my first white widow seedling. it is the same age as the WWxWR but the WW is a week behind as far as lighting goes. WWxWR 10days and WW 3 days. but the WW has gone in under 2x400w hps almost straight away, wheere as the WWxWR was ander 1x400w for a week first. poor thing, went through some stress, but its going good now.

i am going to veg for at least another 8 days maybe even 14 days. not sure yet. i want to give the seedlings a chance to really settle. i am told that these should grow alot during flower. i know that the 2 clones will not grow too much in flower and my little bagseed, well it hasnt grown much height at all.

tomorrow will be 14 days since i got my first tent. i will put up a big post and detail what i have done so far.

hi guys, hows the smoke? i should have done this bit at the start, but better late than never.

i started this grow by germinating a bagseed that i got from a really nice oz.(7/12/09) the method i used to germ was in a shot glass of low ph water that was sitting in a container of water with a coffee cup over the top. (9/12/09)2 days later i planted it in a cube of rockwool. (12/12/09)3 days later it breached the surface and sprouted.

(14/12/09)i started my 2 clones. i took them from my first 2 plants, which failed, but thats another story.

all three plants were under 4 x 60cm, 18watt 5000k, quad phosporous t-8 fluros and a single pink 15watt grolux 45cm t-8 fluro. total of 87watts. they were under that lighting for nearly 5 weeks and was on 20hrs on 4hrs off. at 3 weeks i topped both clones with the exact results i was wanting.

i got my 1m x 1m x 1.8m mylar grow tent 2 weeks ago today. i am running a 100mm inlet fan and a 150mm exhaust fan. i am also using an evap cooler to mantain temps and humidity.

i was using a single 400watt hps, 18 on 6 off, in the tent when the three plants first went in. about a week ago i added a second 400watt hps, but because my light on period is 5:30am to 11:30pm and our heat waves, i was only able to run it for the first and last 6hrs of the on period. the last 2 days have been cooler and has allowed me to run both 400watt light for the full 18hrs. the plants have really responded to the extra 400watts for that extra 6hrs.

i am basically growing DWC. the 3 plants in rockwool cubes have been put in 10ltr pots filled with hydroton. i am feeding them for 15mins every 3 hours. the little seedling, ww and wwXwr, are on 2min feeds every 3hrs. all plants are now running full strength nutes. the only problems i have had so far is ph lockout last week, all sorted now and the wwXwr showed some stress going under the hps lighting. the leaf tips went yellow, its under control now.

(18/1/10)i got a white widow X white rhine seedling and (25/1/10) i also got a white widow seedling. both seedling are the same age, the only difference is a week of hps lighting. they are in 5ltr pots in hydroton for now. they will have to be transplanted into bigger pots soon.

i am using dutch master advance grow A + B for vegging. i am also using canna rhizotonic for root strength and health. i will not let root rot take hold again. i kepp my ph at or just under 6. my temps in the tent go from 20 degrees celsius at 5:30am up to 29-30 degrees around 4pm, but is mostly around 26-27 degrees. humidity is steady at 60%.

i will be using dutch master advance flower A + B and dutch master advance potash+ during flowering. i will be flowering the clones and bagseed for roughly 9 weeks and the WWxWR and WW 11-12 weeks.

i am going to be vegging for another 2 weeks minimum and was thinking of topping my 2 clones again. i will decide in the next 2hrs. when i topped them at 3 weeks clone1 went into 3 main colas and clone2 went into 4 main colas. so topping again should clone1 at least 6 main colas and clone2 8 main colas. i am new to growing but i think 2 weeks should be enough time to get good growth after topping.

i have tried repeatedly to get some more photos, but my camera is shit and i cant get the pics that i want. so i am borrowing a mates camera tomorrow. pics are coming.

i welcome any hints or suggestions to help me grow better buds. rep++++ for any helpful info.

Good looking tent 8E.. Bet the plants went crazy when you put the HID light on them. I am trying my first under CFL's and it slow to say the least. I am going to subscibe and look forward to some more pictures. Did you say you changed the ventilation in there? Pics....?

thanks man. almost as soon as i moved the plants into the tent they responded. they love it in there.
i plan on using cfls and fluro for my pre-veg. the 87watts of fluros that i have and i want to add another 2 x 130watts cfls. 3 weeks pre-veg, then 3 weeks 600watts hps veg and then onto 1000watts hps flower. thats the plan anyway.
i personally dont see the point in using cfls all the way through, but some ppl get really good results.
i had a look at your journal, but sorry man i dont know anything about growing in soil. not yet anyway. i sort of agree with beginnerbloomer but, put them outside and see what you get.
i would go boy a 400 hps and set up some sort of auto feeding set and forget system for indoors. my first 2 pot sytem and 400watt hps cost me $380 ready to go. i got some veg nutes in with that too. go to your local hydro shop and talk to them about the space you you have indoors and ask what they think will work with the money you have. my entire setup has cost me less than $900. it has taken 3 months to buy and build the things i have.
have a look at the DIY. you will be surprised at what some ppl build.

I have given up the smoke for the time being so no bagseeds coming in to changemy methods. I have ordered some from overseas but i aint thinking its too likely they will get here. Would love a setup like yours but between my mortgage and my mrs i cant see it happening. They are both drains on my funds.

i dont think soil is hard to grow in i just havnt tried yet. it might be it might be easy, i dont know. i know what is like to have drains on funding. single parent.

i want a 3 plant rotation, 3 in the final 4 weeks of flower, 3 in the first 4 weeks of flower, 3 in hps veg and 3 in pre-veg. i want to harvest every 3-4 weeks. i will be happy with 4-8 ounces each harvest. i dont plan on going over 2kw if i can help it. 1kw x 18hrs = $1.44 a day someone said. dont quote me on that i probably have it wrong. i need to get another tent soon then i will be set. i am looking at one on ebay its only $230 delivered and its a bit bigger that the one i have.

i smoke a lot. i am a very hyper person. me smoking weed keeps me grounded and productive.

Dont know what the tents cost you and this may sound thick but driving home the other day it was council pick up day and there was a sweet looking cupboard on the side of the road. Would have made a wicked seedling/veg area. Was a white cupboard similar to what i have.
