flowering and after

ok i just cleansed my plants and want to keep the strain (they were giving to me for i am a rookie and the gifter could also get clones). So my question is i want to keep this plant as a mother of some sort so how do i harvest without killing the plant and switch it back to veg stage to fill out again and flower? how long should i wait to switch it back to 12/12 to flower again also.

leave some growth on the bottom and just change the lights back to 18/6 for a while. she will start back on veg. i would wait a few weeks brofre switching back to 12/12

Ok thank you and a little help on the pruning to harvest so they dont die from over pruning in 2 weeks
