I'm a soil and chemical grower. Usually I do what everyone else does, something like 30-10-10 for veg phase. When flowering is induced, I use 10-20-10 or 7-16-5 or the like.

But what about nutrients for plants straight into 12 12? Just use bloom nutes? I mean they need a lot of nitrogen too right?

I use my jacks classic 20-20-20 for bout 3 weeks. Then switch to 10-30-20 jacks, at a small, gradual amount..
oh, okay so something like 202020. cool thank you. + rep. Ill but Schultz Orchid food 20-20-20 and 7-15-10.
That specific fert has always giving me great results. ;-)

dont give seeds anything untill they are two weeks old
There goes the answer I was looking for. Does the label normally tell you how much to add or do you just use the rule of thumb depending on how mature your grow is? I need to get a lot of things and unfortunately a PPM/EC meter is not high on that list.

if u start from seed 12/12 after the 2 week mark when its safe to use nutes i would start them off on Veg nutes first not bloom, because your plant is not going to flower until its mature enuff....so veg nutes until its mature then when u see it sexing kick in the bloom nutes.

To further explain what the person before me did. Yes. They do. The first few weeks after you flip the swtich to 12/12 is a period of explosive vegetative growth. It is best to continue veg nutes (high N) for at leat the first couple of weeks, to avoid N deficiency later on. Hope this helps. I'm still a newbie myself but I think fundamental principles like this should be understood before fully immersing yourself into your first grow.
