I didn't feel the need to address your concerns as those are your concerns, not mine. I simply said I disagree. Several seem to be unwarranted, some patients CAN grow their own. And those that cannot are already "paying dispensary prices" on the street so its no difference to them, well except now they wont go to jail for it, thats different. You have no idea where I'm coming from. I am a Krohn's patient so MJ would directly help me. I also have occasional seizures from an industrial accident in which I sustained multiple closed head injuries. At one point I was placed on Topomax, Lexapro, and klonopin. All of which could be replaced by MJ for me. And even at 20/g STANDARD street prices I pay now, the MJ would be cheaper than filling those (3) every month. Also I own a house in AZ, waaaaay west side. Pretty sure I'll be able to grow. I am looking at the bill as an individual, with my own individual concerns in mind, my health.
And I have read every word several times in regards to the "Did you read it?"
http://stoparrestingpatients.org/home/initiative
"13. "QUALIFYING PATIENT" MEANS A PERSON WHO HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED BY A PHYSICIAN AS HAVING A DEBILITATING MEDICAL CONDITION."
notice the conditions are listed no where in the initiative. It was left open for a reason.
"18. "WRITTEN CERTIFICATION" MEANS A DOCUMENT DATED AND SIGNED BY A PHYSICIAN, STATING THAT IN THE PHYSICIAN'S PROFESSIONAL OPINION THE PATIENT IS LIKELY TO RECEIVE THERAPEUTIC OR PALLIATIVE BENEFIT FROM THE MEDICAL USE OF MARIJUANA TO TREAT OR ALLEVIATE THE PATIENT'S DEBILITATING MEDICAL CONDITION OR SYMPTOMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DEBILITATING MEDICAL CONDITION. THE PHYSICIAN MUST:
(a) SPECIFY THE QUALIFYING PATIENT'S DEBILITATING MEDICAL CONDITION IN THE WRITTEN CERTIFICATION.
(b) SIGN AND DATE THE WRITTEN CERTIFICATION ONLY IN THE COURSE OF A PHYSICIAN-PATIENT RELATIONSHIP AFTER THE PHYSICIAN HAS COMPLETED A FULL ASSESSMENT OF THE QUALIFYING PATIENT'S MEDICAL HISTORY."
my doctors and I are waiting patiently. The reason AZ even has an initiative this year is because of the heir to progressive insurance. Money talks and bullshit walks. He dropped millions on this cause!!
So to you, Peter Lewis, THANK YOU.
As I stated earlier, I think this is a step in the right direction. Your entitled to your own opinion of course. Most of your angst seems to be against dispensaries and their owners. As someone that intends on being a registered care giver I have talked to a lot of people that work in the MJ field so to speak now. maybe you should talk to some from here.
And last but not least, YOU didn't address my only concern. As a father of 3, health care is a far more important issue for me than MMJ and I am a potential patient. Pay attention to this part ok, WE ARE THE ONLY STATE THAT HAS NO HEALTH CARE FOR KIDS!!!
When MMJ can fix two problems at once, I'm all for it. While I'm obviously all for the comforting of the sick and dying, I strongly believe that AZ's future with a generation of babies all with out health care and families homeless, thrown the fuck off welfare is bleak at best.
You have much bigger problems in AZ other than MMJ.
and that is JMHO
