They have taken a blow and are trying to regroup to formulate new strategy. Fine. Republicans and any party would do the same. But what I see going on now is not a discussion of strategy, it is simply "what facade of our true values shall we put forward now in order to please the voters? Obviously showing them the real us didn't work"

12-18 months ago the democrats had the messiah and strong control of both houses. They thought they could do no wrong and we got a rare glimpse into who they really are. They didn't mind letting their radicalism show. From Obama down to posters in this forum the message was, we won so shut up for the next 4 years." But we didn't shut up and it didn't take 4 years.

So now what are they planning? Obama is going back into campaign mode with more fiery speeches about how he is standing up to special interests and fighting for the people. I'm stunned they think that can sell at this point. All evidence is that Obama is not standing up "to" special interests, he is standing up "for" the biggest special interest of all - uncontrolled federal government.

America to Obama: Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us twice, shame on us!

Like I said how does it feel to be the 7 year ago dems Illegal?

Check it out, all that you are trying to say, is exactly what we all said before bush got re-elected. Try to watch the first couple minutes of "Blue State" it is uncanny how exact it is, just replacing the word democrat for republican (because face it there is not going to be a 'libertarian' in charge).

Obama is now attempting to perform an amazing feat of prestidigitation...he is going to transform himself into a populist statist. This will be a treat to observe, fantastic theater!

Did anyone see the un Presidential performance at yesterdays town hall in Ohio. The Potus was at his prickly worst.

He behaves like a petulant child.

My point is that republicans, when their core values are out of favor, stick with them anyway. Bush never faltered as his popularity declined. But democrats, since their core values are such that they can't afford to let the people see them, are used to donning a set of phony values for us to see. And therefore they find it easy to duck into a phone booth and change key positions. Soon we will hear Obama talking about limited government, tax cuts and entrepreneurship. All bullshit. Democrats find it easy to pretend to embrace all they despise when the situation calls for it. But I don't think we'll be fooled again.

Liberals have no core values worth emulating.

That's why they have a difficult time when asked to LEAD by the PPl. They do much better on the sidelines.

We seem to put them into the game when we feel we have a big lead. In the end, they get benched.

Obama seems to me to be like the guy in the game who is sorry he asked for the "ball"!!!

At yesterdays town hall he actually said that he finds the job stifling and that he doesn't much like being in Washington.

Maybe we'll be lucky and he will bench himself.

He certainly is chucking a lot of bricks!

What Democrats are learning (sorry for the oxymoron), is that their lofty ideas just don't work where the rubber meets the road.

Obama was and is far to inexperienced to be President. He rushed in with his lofty ideas only to be bitch slapped by reality. Unlike more experienced Democrat Presidents of the past, who spoke Liberal policy but secretly knew none of it was realistic, Obama really believed his own nonsense.

The far Left never gets the President they want because the system eventually requires some level of reasonable thinking. So they move far left and make lofty promises they know damn well they can't keep to pander to the Dem. base, then to the center for the general election, and then they get into office and change nothing.

Obama is different. Obama really is a far left Radical and it looks like it will be up to the voters to stop him. I just wonder how hard the pendulum is going to shift to the right. While I am Conservative in most areas, I would seriously hate to see the Religious Right appoint ideologies to the Supreme Court - that scares me.

lol really? You guys not remember how fast everyone jumped off of Bushes ship in the republican party?

Remember all the jokes about McCain not wanting to get Bushes support?

And how they were trying to sell that they would be the party of change (From Bush) at the same time Obama was doing the same?

Nobody but cooks want someone on the far left, but guess what, Obama is not far left, why do you think his popularity is slipping? All of you guys hated him before, and still do right? So what changed, it was the people on the fringe of the left that are disatisfied because he did not get them socialized medicine, didn't even try. He did not stop the wars, ect, that is what pissed them off. And that is why his numbers have slipped.

The majority of America could care less about politics, and could care less about any of this.

This is how I know I am talking to a Republican and not a Conservative. You think Bush practiced conservative core values during his administration? When the hell was this? Was it when he pushed through the biggest entitlement since LBJ with his medicare prescription dug reform? Which i will add was 500 BILLION to be paid for in total deficit and now estimated at around 1 TRILLION dollars. Which i will also add he had the support of most of the "conservative" GOP congress. Or was it the Patriot Act with increased domestic surveillance and shitting on civil liberties which showed his core values? I know, maybe it was Bush's promise in 2000 to end a nation building foreign policy when he debated Al Gore. I guess he just wanted to do both the nation destroying AND the nation building at the cost of soldiers lives and tax payers money.

I could go on but you get my point. If this is YOUR idea of core values. You can keep them.

Obama was and is far to inexperienced to be President. .
Since when did experience matter? You were and still are beside yourself to have had Sarah Palin runner up to a 72 year old man.

Gah Damn somebody gets it!!!! While the far right is so consumed with hating Obama they never notice that the far left is starting to hate him just as much. I don't see how Obama can be so far left when he has broken virtually ALL of his liberal campaign promises. The war in Iraq goes on. Gitmo is still open. Afghanistan has a troop surge. Whats left of healthcare reform is a pussified shell of what he promised. Bush pushed through a bigger entitlement than anything up for a vote now and still got reelected by conservatives afterwards! So what the fuck are neocons bitching about?

It is the independents who are deserting Obama.

They are the ones suffering voters remorse. The far left is stuck with him.

Obama is actually pushing independents to the right.

lol no, it is just not vouge to be a republican anymore, so they are self annoiting themselves independents!

Look at Fox news, it was all republican tv shows right? Now everyone is a 'libertarian' or 'independent'. How many times did Brown (who I actually like) say he was a 'independent' in his victory speech?

And guess what it said by his name on the voting ticket? Right, republican.

Give it a few years, you will see it go back the other way after republicans are back in full power, it will then be the dems that are the new 'independents' trying to dethrone the 'establishment'.

And it goes round and round.

denial is just not a river in africa.

note to libs...obama won massechusetts by 26 points and lost by 5 IN ONE YEAR.

couple things of note about that.

1 unprecedented turn of fortune (similar in NJ)

2 the dem was up by 30 points just a few short months ago (i think 2 months)

3 brown was virtually unheard of anywhere, now is a household name.

4 both brown and christi ran against bamster

5 and i think this is big/huge/enormous bamster went there and campaigned. this is huge because it is mass. where liberalism rules the roost. even the repub governors they elected in the past governed center left. this was a total rejection of obama. listen to all the people from mass that were interviewed all over every media. they said they were sick of the heavy hand of the govt, and they said it in a real heavy boston dialect....the opposite of a negro dialect

lol he Died in what september? So 3 months ago, a month and a half after he died, you really think people had a clue who anyone running was? Really?

3 brown was virtually unheard of anywhere, now is a household name.
Yeah because there are not a lot of national elections at the moment, so we needed something to get us through to november. And it helps that it ended the Dems paper super majority.

4 both brown and christi ran against bamster
Who? You mean Obama? It's not barry anymore?

lol you fail, this guy has not even made one vote yet, and all of a sudden you know that he is not going to be in the middle.

There is a long fall from this pedestal you put this guy onto. Hopefully he will be safe up there.

yep, you are right, nothing to worry about for the libs. :dunce:

No Republican here, just common sense , education, and logic.

Welcome....

Uhhh Red, when the President takes a state by 26 points and then campaigns for a candidate a year later and that candidate loses by 6 points ... that's called a disaster and a public rebuke of Obama. In one year, the man has no coat tails.... none. Disaster.

Massachusetts is tired of Obama
America is tired of Obama
Europe is tired of Obama

Know who's not tired of Obama?

Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba.

Uhhh, what's wrong with that illustration?

It should be reversed.

lmao, no you do not understand.

I would rather see dems in, because they are not afraid of gay people, and very much more pro weed.

Economically, it really doesn't matter who is in, so why be scared? It is the nutbags that think that it actually will change something, or if it will somehow end civilization as we know it. I learned this after W's second term. The world keeps on rolling.
