He'll be OK, so long as he has no previous. Its the change to class B here, things are getting silly..... other day in my local paper a guy recieved 12 month conditional discharge for having just ONE GRAM of weed on his person!!!! What a waste of taxpayers time and money....why, why why?
Couple of years ago I was caught with 14 flowering plants and recieved a police caution, it was described as a 'small cannabis grow' (which it was), its more the shock I think of being arrested, locked in a cell etc. Since then its uprgaded of course.
Its worth remembering what I was told back then and I quote: " If its just one or two plants we can use our discretion, but otherwise we HAVE to arrest you"
Bit concerned why he had all those bags in his car though..... that could make it difficult for him? Anyway, I wish him best of luck.

8 bags on him bit suspect,, thats too much for personal use thats dealing, then growing 10 plants, and being caught with a knife (read the article myself little detail he missed out) he wont get 14 years but with all them things against him any normal person 'non famous' would definatly serve time but cause his a 'semi well known actor' he will get probabtion fined and a criminal record,,, then again he could be made as an example to show uk means buisness when it comes to cannabis and it now being a class b drug who knows ( I do think its the 1st option though)

it's one thing a knock on your door and you answer it red eyed and then the pork chop find your 4 plants, and well, everything and anything points towards personal use, wheras yeah, he's dealing, so he's gonna have a bit of a harder time.
i do find it amusing that it was someone playing the actor of the big mean shady dodgy punch you senseless idiot character in the films that got busted

It's MAX 14 years. This probably isn't taking into account how many plants and how much weed he had, it's the maximum for growing any amount of weed.
Basically, if you filled a small country with marijuana plantations, under british law you would still get max 14 years take away possession of a knife.

The thing I don't understand is '8 bags' - how big is a 'bag'? A gram? A 1/4? An ounce?
They would've penalised him because he's been caught with a knife too - drugs + weapons = jail time.
But they won't, because he's upper class.

He was a child role model whether he liked it or not. I'm sure he liked the fame and money so.... society never likes it when a child mentor goes "bad". They will always rough them up so the worshipers get the message.

I very much doubt he will go to prison for 14 years.
However, this is either going to go one way or the other. One hand they could make an example of him because he is famous and will show that the goverment are taking cannabis seriously to the rest of us or the judge will spair him because of his acting career.
I was recently reading an article in google news about a gang trying to smuggle a £1 Million worth of hash and the ring leader of that got 4 years. I think the 14 years bit is just to sell more stories to be honest. However they still could make him the example.
I think the potter star will get a suspended sentance.
