But the mid way point of sunlight is June 21st.... and that is when you will flower, give or take a few weeks., not September. They will be almost done in Sept.
I am stoked to see that you are not just in the politics section...

Here is some data from June 21st, 2009 for Dublin Ireland...

What strain will be flowering (give or take a few weeks) around the longest day of the year??????

I only read back a page...so you must be talking about ruderalis which reached it's maturity before the solstice????

Otherwise wouldn't we would be looking at pistils in August at the earliest???

Hea chaps, hows everyone been gettin on? Havnt been on here in a bit lol.

doing a bit of shopping for some new outdoor seeds and i have decided wats goin down.

Freisen Dew - Dutch Passion

Hollands Hope - Dutch Passion

White Widow - Grow XXX

Hoping the weather is a tad nicer that last year, i ran into some mold problems late in the season.

2 weeks in to flowering and small flowers are starting to appear..
Hoping they'll be finished in time for my spring cloning project which will have my clones ready for planting outside for the summer..

I'm thinking that since June 21st is the longest day of the year, then that should be the day the flowering starts.. ???

This will be my first gourilla grow so any hints or tips welcomed.. :bigjoint:

Whats the story Jay, Plants usualy start to flower in the last week of Aug to the first of Sep give or take a few days. Depending on how fast they finnish they are done mid to late oct. Thats what ive learned anywho.

Hope this helps mate.

Should of mentioned that the two strains I will be crossing is Auto hindo kush x Ak-47 and auto ak-48.
I shall start the seedlings in my room intill they get a good foot hold hold then transplant them outside somewhere in the first week of june.
Getting very pressed for time now though, it might have to be done next year..

cool. youd want some mold resistant strains so?
DEFO!
you wuldnt want to risk any strains that have a chance of gettin mould esp. if your using a greenhouse. its hard to get some sativas to finnish when you want them to so if your lookin for an easy number try a landrace indica.-itl turn out a bit like this(right)~

cool what it weih dry? whats outdoor weed in ireland like?

Quailty i think depends on genitics, like if you grow a white widow and if finnishes you will have white widow weed. I grew a power flower last season and it blew the face off me after a one skinner.

My buddy grew passion#1 and frisian dew last year.

No issues with mold and got a good yield considering our weather, the frisian dew had some beautiful purple in it. Tasted really good too.

Probaly going to be my choice this year:-P

I found a great method for getting plants to flower early outdoors, especially in our climate its called shading, since plants react and start to flower at 12/12 you can shade you plants at maybe 6 or 7 at night so the plants are only getting 12 hours sunlight and come back 12 hours later and remove the shading to provoke an early flowering, but it isnt viable for everyone only if you have access to your plants daily.
it could shorten your season and get the babies outta the sometimes not so forgiving irish climate.
hope this helps!

I mentioned this idea in a earlier post, I could only imagine doing this if you were growing in your back garden or somwehere close by other wise it'll be too much or a arse to do also attract unwanted attention...
Infact I have vegged a few plants like this last year, I had them under my hid light in the morning and evening and when the sun did show its face then id bring them out to sun bathe..The hid only topped up the hours to 18..
I'm not sure if the 2 diffrent light spectrums shocked the plant and made it go hermie??
I will certantly be trying to flower outside this year..
I understand that buds grown outside taste better than under artifical light...
