Flowering from seed to dertime sex then go back to veg. Is this safe?

I hate wasting time with seeds but I have no choice when starting new strains. I have 19 plants from seed about 3 weeks old and 8-10 inches high in large dixie cups. Plants include white widow, big bud and durban posion. What I want to do is put them in my flower room, dertermine the sex to weed out the males, then take the females back into veg stage and let them get bigger before flowering. I have heard about hermies but I have not yet seen any. Is this a good idea?

Like I said, I hate wasting time with seeds because I like to top and fim so I get bushey plants with 4-6 big colas and I don't want to wast time with the males.

It will stress them out and may take longer. Take your clones, flower the donor. Toss the male clones and plants. Veg clones and enjoy the donor smoke while the clones flower.

Since males almost always show first, you might not have to wait for actual pistils to show to eliminate the males. Hermies are always possible when messing with photoperiods.
It's been a while since I've done what you're considering doing. I don't recall any real problems with this, ie:I'd do it again, if need be.

get clones then put mothers/ daddys in flower see what you got, trash dad and boys, no waist of time, just keep cloning off of clones, and your set.
