WHEN DO I FLOWER MY PLANTS? 400w grow.

I just bought a 400w hps light with hortilux bulb i think it is. My plants are 5 weeks old and about a foot high. Should i flower right now and if not should i use my HPS light for the rest of vegitative stage rather than my current t-8 4ft fluorescent?

how much bud do u think i will get from 400w hps light and im only growing 2 plants. They are super silver haze feminized seeds from marijuana.nl. They are 5 weeks old and 8-9 inches tall and i use fox farms ocean forest soil with they're GROW nutrients.

depends how bushy they are and how long you flower them at least go until the tri.s are a amber.color make surre you rotate them also. its just tohard to really sayuntil its that time.

of course but its not as good as a metal halide light i would suggest leaving the floro tube in there untill you flower though thats just what i would. and ive read on the forum that hps is ok for veg if you dont have metal halide

Sure you can veg with hps. People have mixed feelings on it but one thing most will agree on, is that if we only had 1 choice of lights to do a complete grow between metal halide or high pressure sodium. hps will be the winner.

The best is actually to mix the MH/HPS for a fuller spectrum or in your case have the flourescents with the hps, although I use MH solely for vegging and switch to HP for 12/12. Contrary to most people I like to veg for a long time, about 12 wks, but Im not limited by space so I know not everyone has that option. Just from looking at the pictures I personally would keep them vegging for awhile, but thats all dependent upon your situation and I dont want to say any specific time cause thats up to you. Just to clarify your question the HPS is better than the flourescent for vegging, atleast in my opinion, so if you cant do both I would stick with the HP, it just puts out alot more lumens so thats always better.
