Good luck tam. Remember mate, the key to bigger yields is maturity of the plant, more so than the lighting i have always found, veg em up well and they'll give you that 1.5oz target ......... hows the heat from that HPS, you getting it dialled in ok?

hi mate, i havnt been using hps yet will do in about a week, i left it on the other day for an hour and it didnt seem that hot in the box, but by the time i start using it i will have a new temp gauge. and like i said earlier if it is to hot in there its not a problem for me to leave the door half open

Hello I forgot to mention that I was having trouble with my 250w cfl's, 4 out of 8 of the elements on both bulbs are not working, I'm wondering if it may have been damp up there and part of the ballast may have broke!

This has got me worried about my hps kit up there, what I want to know is if anyone thinks I can use the hps, I can have it up to 25 inches above the seedlings.

Would it b ok or is it a definate no.

hey guys its update time i think!!

i started germin these ladys last tuesday morning, and its been 5 days since the biggest popped out the soil, the others were popping out each day after.

i have been using the 250w hps for 3 days now, im not sure what the temps are at the moment but i have been leaving the grow box door open until.

i have a digital hygrometer on the way and should be here tomorrow, it tells you the min and max temps so i will know just how cold my loft is getting as the weather has gone bleddy freezing again.

any way heres the pics!!! i know its not very interesting at the minute but its gonna get very green in there

i got the digital thermometer and hygrometer today

the temps with the lights on are at a steady 80.6f but the humidity is low at 25%

im not even using a intake fan just an exhaust fan so im pretty pleased with that considering the size of the box, but mind you my loft is quite chilly up there!!!

all 5 are doing really well i will post more pics tomorrow.

mmmmmm i have an idea!!!! im gonna use one for a micro grow!!!!

i will start a new journal when i get it all together, like pc case and a few fans.

will keep you guys posted, not that anyones interested it will get good soon though

hi mate, i was thinking of picking a mother out of these 5 and start doing clones, but i will wait and see what the smoke is like first.

but the bonus about the seeds is that i have less plants in total

I came home today to find the box at 90degrees !!!!!! The plants are fine though! Plus when using the hps the humidity is very low at 25% but when I'm using the 250w cfl the humidity flys up to 58%.

I'm gonna veg them for a while under the cfl. all is going smoothly apart from them all growing at different paces, I'm sure they are fine.

No more pics until Monday unfortunatly lol

ok today i was in the back garden where i threw the two ak48s i harvested from my last grow, and believe it or not the biggest plant has loads of new growth.

which made me bring it back inside and throw it in the grow box. if it survives im gonna be well chuffed.

will get some pics of her in a bit. now im kind of wishing i re vegd them in the first place.

the new growth is quite high up but the main stems are very bendy so im gonna pull them all down and if she does survive get some lsting on the go.

And the calyxes that were still on her have swollen big time, I'm really thinking that If I left them two more weeks I might have doubled my yield. Oh well you live and learn.

Hows it going Its the time of year for a natural outdoor reveg! ...days getting longer , sun gradually getting higher etc Always amazes me how these plants do it.

Re those buds mate, that's why they always say "when you think theyre ready to chop give them another 2 weeks" ......... you have described perfectly what most of us miss out on by chopping way too early. I was always told to give even my Indicas 10 solid weeks flowering to let them fully ripen off and get that dark all over apprearance, thats when they are properly finished. I think the problem is that we all run out of bud that bit too early

Its great to a stealth grow on the right track im very impressed man i got bf's lsd and la woman sproutin right now in my cab but ym temps are hanging around little to high so if you have any knowledge please share

once again cant wait to see these girlyyys grow into fine plants

hi mog, i have been reading up about autoflowers and i dont really see any point in them, you will use loads more electric with them due to the long light cycles and they dont yield much, the average i have seen is between 1/2 - 1 ounce. plus i enjoy the 12/12 its more exciting!!!

hello MS, i have once again abandoned the old ak, the roots were nearly black and it seemed like it was drying out very quickly it was turning like a grey colour.

this grow im deffo gonna leave for the whole run, they will get all the time they need, well i suppose with 5 it wouldnt hurt chopping one if i get a tad hard up!!!

but yeah like you said when i think they are ready, give them another 2 weeks!

it was a surprise mate but it started going downhill very quickly as stated above, she is now officially dead

hi there, i dont think im gonna have any problems with hi temps at the minute as my loft is cold!! since i have had my thermo the lowest it has gone is 5 degrees.

as for inlet and exhaust fans im using 4" toilet/shower extractors from my local b&Q, but as im only using that 250w cfl im not using any!!! and the box stays at a steady 70 degrees and a humidity of 52%.

as for your grow box its hard to say without seeing pics of it, have you got a link to it??? i will check it out.

update day 15 "i think"............

i have decided to make my updates on sundays as im always at home doing nowt!

all is going well apart from i think they are growing slowly apart from one. on the plus side they are all lush green and healthy.

they are still under the 6400k 250watter thats only got 4 of the elements working but is still plenty bright enough for them.

as i mentioned previously the temps went over 90 the other day so before i start usng the hps again im gonna purchace a monster inline fan and may think about making a cool shade for it.

i have been thinking about veging them for a little longer and then just flower them out of the box so i can let them get alot bigger and using that cab as a mother box

any way heres the pics your all waiting for, god i cant wait till they start flowering!!!

I know what you mean tam but the recommneded lighting schedule that came with these says 18/6 so 2 x months of that versus 1 month of 18/6 and say 2 of 12/12 doesn't leave much in it. The real reason I am is that when I attempted my very very first grow one of th e5 feminised seeds turned male and pollenated one of the fems so now I got 50+ seeds of LR#2 to use up so thought I'd grow some of them out and then try something different

yeah actually your right and if you got 50+ seed i would go for it.
