buds to dry but stems not

cool cool but iwas thinking atleast an ounce
aw it's no fun when you guess your own dry weight, lol... i was gonna guess an oz. :fire: Keep us posted on your cure process.

I currently have a plant I chopped on jan. 8th, dried for 12 days and have been jar curing for 13 days now. Curing is where it's at brotha'... trichs are going amber and the "planty" smell has given way to skuny bud smell. :weed: good luck on yours and watch for mold...i check twice daily when i "burp them". As a side note, I noticed a sample bud once first chopped gave a short lasting head high using a quick dry method and now after the cure I get more of a heavy chest/shoulders "body high"... truely brings out the best in your buds. I imagine you won't be smoking these until almost march right?

Yes thats the plan man i am just a little fuzzy on curing myself...i never cured more than afew buds at a time lol i got 2 1 quart canning jars iam going to use...i figure when the stem bends but dont snap and the buds are a little dry to the touch is when ill put them into their first 12 hours of curing before the first burp at 12 hours...its just do i burp every 12 hours for the whole 2-3 weeks or however long?

i would let the stem "snap" but not "break".. otherwuse the buds will have alot of undesired moisture in the middle.. u dont want wet buds.. but u dont want crispies either. even tho if u dry em too much u just put a leaf in the har n mosten em up b4 a burp

i tried to go by the stem "bend or snap" method but each nug was different so I ended up just going by my cola since all the others were smaller and technically should be drier than the bigger bud, this is HDFruity x BCbigbud so the cola was massive..the stem was about as thick as a pen and still would just start to get what i concidred a "snap" after the 12 days. I may have been in a little hurry to start curing but took that into concideration by "burping" the jars at sooner intervals and longer periods and have been on a 12hour 15min burp schedule for a few days now. Hey are there any "tale / tale" signs that a cure is complete? Is it my preference on smell and taste or should i be looking for something special?

a box is made of cellulose, which in turn means it will actually soak some of the moisture like a sponge, its an ok method ifyou have no place else. a paper bag works well. but a closet in normal atmosphere as long as u dont live by a lake or sea due to higher hunidties works normally the best. if you do have a water feature you can always take a food grade silica packet, kinda like the ones you see for electronics, that little white bag and put in the area that will help remove some of the moisture and you can experiment how many it takes to reach your proper water wicking time. you can always spray in a card board box a little non scented pam real liight though to slow wicking also, but only do it on the inside top and 4 sides not the bottom and it will slow it way down, again just a small amount sprayed from a distance (mist it). for your first time doing only do a small portion to see if you like it. i have friends that even take scented oils and wipe a dab in the box to add to the sweet aroma like cinnamon, its different and they like it but i dont.
