I'm moving to coco\perlite on this grow (had a few test runs) and its pretty much the same work for me, except you need to water more if your not running automated watering.
I just put my water in the bucket, add 5ml\L of Hesi Coco (for flowering and vegging but I use it only for flowering. don't know why, it works great for both), PH your solution ot 5.8-6.2 and water your plants until you see runoff.
In the last 4 weeks I add PK, starting 0.25ml\L and up to 4ml\L (much above recommanded, but if they take it I let them) at the last watering. Then a flush, 5 days of clean water and chopchop.
In soil I have way more fertilizers (the biobizz line - biogrow, alg-a-mic, biobloom, topmax, bioheaven and root juice) and still need to PH my solution, just to another value (6.6-6.
.
However, in soil I water half the times I do with my coco\perlite.
The coco\perlite plants i have are growing way faster, way healthier and way bigger.
They DO taste inferior, but yield over twice the emount.
I ran with only Hesi coco and PK through the flowering phase of 2 plants I grew and no deficiency have shown. Didn't had to work extra hours or mix lots of nutes.
I never checked EC, don't have a meter and don't care about it. I know the tap water are high in EC. Thats about it.
When people get all sorts of stuff to work with hydro they might want to check EC to maximize stuff.
I don't. I get along just fine without it.
I grew in soil and in coco\perlite (soil less) and I have the exact same experience.
I might have stayed with organics if amendments were available, but they aren't.
