Whats the problem with my EC meters?

Something strange is happening with my EC meters. My Bluelabs Truncheon measures my tap water @ 0.4EC my digital EC pen measures it @ 0.3EC & this even happens after I have calibrated the pen & cleaned out both meters. After nutrient solutions have been mixed I take another reading & the Bluelab truncheon is always higher than the digital meter usually by 0.4

Whats going on with my meters I though EC values were universal?

You get what you pay for. All electronics are junk these days. This is the meter Im picking up>> http://www.ecogrow.com/index.cfm/product/667/mid/24/nid/88/home.html Had one in the past, very accurate and best of all Reliable. Good luck man.
