Odd problem...Help?

UPDATE... all of my dozen plants are now drooping. Ph is a perfect 7.0 in every pot transplanted half watered half left half drier put have in organic soil and every combo is causing this drooping!!! Please help!!

Ok so I have two plants going right now. Both were germed and planted at the same time and from the same batch of seeds. They are in 8oz dixie cups. As you can see from the pics, the healthy plant on the left is doing great! They are both in the same box, with the same temperature and light conditions, and receive the same amount of water. The plant on the right keeps getting droopier by the day! I thought it may have been overwatered so I let the soil almost completely dry out, but it is just getting worse. I also have some 5 day old plants that are doing great as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the pics there is a bit of yellow in the leaves but its not very apparent in person...weird.. Coud that be an issue?

no idea about the difference in plants, but both need to be transplanted to a larger container. better to use an organic soil than mg.

Do not use miracle grow, it's horrible. Looks like the MG soil is burning your babies.

The plant on the right is probably root bound. This would be a cause for it to droop. Also, I had a plant in MG just last week which was growing much slower than I expected and had some yellowing as well. I repotted it into Scotts Premium from Home Depot and it has taken off.

Agreed, they need transplanted. That big one is probably in need of nutes, showing deficiencies alreay. I know they say to wait til around the 3rd week of veg(assuming they are growing well), but that's more aimed at having them in a bigger pot, like 6". Also, like mentioned, the bigger one is getting rootbound, and should be transplanted ASAP. If you want to continue using the MG soil, make sure to add a shitload of perlite, and a cup of pelletized lime if you can get some. I used it for 4 grows, and it worked great. Finicky stuff though, took me 2 grows to get the fert schedule down pat, 'cause it's easy to overfeed and underfeed. Easy to overwater too, unless you add the perlite. Add about 20%, and you'll be good to go.

TRans plant both of the plants and give a small amount of "n" or i just use big bloom!! mj roots run deep always keep that in mind when growin if they where in a big pot now you prob have no prob get it.get them out of there now bro those cups piss me off every time i see them!!

ok so I watered it with a 1/3 solution of a generic 15-30-15 plant food and transplanted. Someone said not to continue using mg soil but that is all I have within a 30 mile radius and I work next 3 days. Reason I decided to use nutes was... Well no good reason. However when I was transplanting I noticed that every single one of my dozen babies is producing bright greenish mostly yellow leaves right out the top. That droopy plant has gotten droopier and the large plant has completely yellow leaves on the bottom after only 12 to 14 days of growing. I tried to find a similar problem and it looks like the plant has just about every defficiency on that thread.

The only thing I have not checked is ph. I use tap water (soft) to feed and I know that most people in town won't dare drink it even filtered! O also bottom of leaves is kind of purplish and the stem is purple near nodes and shedding like a snake. Thanks everone I really appreciate it this forum is great. Wow man, you like playing with fire, don't ya?LOL MG is a 'hot' soil already, and you added nutes to those tiny plants? Sorry to say, that's not a good idea. You might get lucky and have them pull through, but, i suspect you'll be flushing in the near future. If the leaves start turning dark green, and the new leaf tips are burnt, flush ASAP.

Also, make sure you get the PH checked ASAP, especially your water and fert mix. They'll starve to death if the PH is out too far, no matter how much fert you give them.

I'm not sure what you mean by rootbound but I can tell you that when I transplanted the roots at the bottom of the cup were swirling around. They were really really dense. Kind of reminded me Of wound steel cable or wound copper wire lol

first off ur soil ph is way too high in my opinion. optimal PH range for soil is 6.3. cuz at that range of PH ur babies are getting all the nutrients they need and if u start gettin higher in ph or lower u start to lock certain nutes which eventually turns into a nute deficiency, but to correct it u have to get ur soil ph at the 6.1-6.8 at the highest (depending on ur strain)and then start to give the nutients it needs to recover. and make sure ur soil isnt cold or too hot temp wise. hopefully that helps

Well, I was just asking so I'd have an idea where they were at, growth-wise. Yep, 'rootbound' is when they roots get packed in really densely, and will eventually start choking out the plant if they get dense enough. But, since you've transplanted, you should start to see those deficiencies go away as the plant seeks out nutrients in the new soil.

Woah, woah, woah! Are you using softened water to water them? Never use softened water! The softener salt will kill any plants you water with softened water. If you absolutely have to use tap water, boil it or let it sit out for 24hrs uncovered at room temp before giving it to your little ones. Hope this helps, and good luck.

Its not "softened water" its tap water, which happens to be soft. What else could I use? I heard bottle water is bad to use and thats the only other thing available to me! Thanks

Thats good news because I just transplanted into: 30% sphagnum peat moss, 30% perlite, 40% organic soil mix and I tested the ph it is 6.5.

Damn that sucks. Yeah bottled water like dasani, or aquafina or if you can afford it fiji, is bad to use because additives for flavor or nutrition. Distilled water on the other hand is what I've heard recommended the most. But it's quite pricey and difficult. So you could boil your water. That should get rid of most everything. Oh and I've heard that you shouldn't use water from brita filters either. I can't remember exactly why though. But hope that you're able to fix the problem. Good luck and good harvest!

I bought some distilled water by the jug. Used a ph tester. Results:

Tap water: 8.2
Rain Water: 6.9
Distilled: 6.7
Tap water (sitting for 48 hours): 7.8

MG soil ph: 7.5
Organic Soil: 6.6

The plants are thriving and growing like crazy with the new soil! Ph is everything
