RO Filter Raise PH?

Hey Guys,

1st time I'm using an RO filter, I used to have pretty good tap water and just PUR filtered it, but now I needed an RO filter.

The PH of the filtered water is actually higher than the tap, not a problem, was just wondering why that is and if that's normal.

Thanks!

I guess it depends on your tap water. My tap water is 8.0. The R/O I get from the water store is 7.0
Exactly that.... my well H2O is 7.4, and the R/o is 7.....Also my well water has high amounts of Cal and Mag, and lime, so it is somewhat buffered. It takes a fair amount of lemon to bring it down, where as with the R/O just a few drops for 5 gallons...Peace, Nugs

is your ph acidic to begin with..? that's the only way i could really see it happening.. my tapwater is over 300ppm and over 8.0 ph but the ro drops it to about 5ppm and 6.5 ph
