Molasses - The Wonder Nute

Hey guys, for my last grow, at about the 2 month mark I started adding molasses every watering because I know it is amazing for marijuana growing. I know it is great for flowering, but what if I were to give it to my week old seedlings every other watering? Nutes, molasses, nutes, etc. until harvest. Would that be better than constant nutes til flower, then molasses/nutes/molasses etc. I would just like to know if it can benefit a marijuana plant during vegging stage basically. Anyone know?

The late yellowing is just the plant stripping the leaves quicker not to worry. I use it very sparringly in the veg cycle and every other week in the flowering on the day i just use water in the week just gives them a shot of sugar and carbs up to a tablespoon in the gallon of water no more.

They are all about 2-3 inches now, i topped them for 2 main colas, most have 4 fan leaves started from the top. I think I will use molasses tomorrow to water them tomorrow and not give nutes and see how they like it. My guess is that it will help them grow vigorous and strong. It feeds the soil, which in turn feeds the plant. So i don't see how it could be harmful to seedlings, maybe just use a lower like .5 tablespoon per gallon mixture. I think that's what ill try.

I used molasses for my outdoor grow in both flower and veg. I also used hydrogen peroxide. I also use compost as my main medium for the beneficial bacteria and fungi.

FFD2BLACK is right. Molasses feed the soil (beneficial organisms) not the plant.

Why H2O2 if it will kill the composted Bacteria and Fungi? It's pretty contradictory

Truth.

It is especially useful in organic soil applications, as it helps provide carbohydrates for the microorganisms that make organics work.

I use it throughout veg and flower, at my own discretion. 1-2 Tbsp per gallon, ever couple waterings or so.

Blackstrap unsulphured.

Im going to stick to this. But btw, do you think this will reduce the risk of deficiencies and such etc.? Or will it only promote growth?

I'm not sure it will reduce any deficiencies, but the label says it is a significant source of "Iron, Potassium and Calcium." There are many fertilizers out there that are derived solely from beet molasses (see Miracle Grow Organic liquid nutrients) or contain molasses, so it definitely has benefits.

Good luck :leaf:

One last question, what are the signs of using too much molasses? I want to make sure if molasses at 1 tablespoon per gallon is hurting my little babies, that I can correct it swiftly. I think I will only use molasses once per week on seedlings til flowering, then it's every other.

I'm not sure what the signs of overuse are, but 1 tablespoon per gallon is pretty conservative, so I wouldn't worry too much about overdoing it.

I Love it and use 1 shot glass per 5 gallons of water in bloom. I use 1 tsp per 5 gallons during Veg.
Fuckin plants LOVE IT. If u look on Bud Candy, heavy weight, all that shit is nothing but molasses.
So I cut my nutes and use molasses. IMO as long as it has less than 1% sodium it OK to use.
