setup doesn't give you experience... I don't see any difference in plants
"difficulties" some like more nutrients, some like less. You would have
just as hard of a time growing some basic everyday strain as you would
an elite or rare strain if its your first time... It's a plant... Have you grown
tomatoes or herbs?? You would have just as hard of a time doing that if
it was your first time as well...

HI Xbox37, welcome to rollitup m8, I have to admit that is a very good set up verry verry good if i must say but for a newbie i wouldnt have given you that spec, for a begginer that is, its great dont get me wrong its like getting that suped up car as soon as you pass you test, its great but without learning the basics its kind of pointless.

I would of dont a few small grows then built my knowledge and equipment, in you size room and with that equip its quite on the large scale for a new comer.

about the strains, Arjans Haze 1 & 2 are very tall and need at least 11 - 14 weeks flowerin (12/12) and tend to require a lot more tlc due to its genetics but the yeild and flavor do make up for the work put in.

Arjans Haze 3 is the worlds smallest Sativa it only grows under 5ft and i like this strain but wouldnt reccomend it to a new comer, Great smoke and good yeild tho.

If your starting new then i would say look at - Afghan #1 , Skunk #1, Early bud, Topp 44, Master Kush, White strains are kind of good as they are stableised.

Hope this helps m8 good luck with it all :bigjoint:

Sativas can be tricky for the new grower for a few reasons. They like a lot of light, which you have. Without it, they like to reach for it and often end up too tall and thin to support themselves and can easily get too tall to manage in flower(9ft ceilings will help there).
Sativas take forever to mature, and another forever to flower. That alone is reason enough to discourage some new growers. Learning happens faster when working with shorter life cycles. You seem to have the equipment, so as long as you have the patience I think you'll be successful to at least some degree.

My experience with Sour D is that it is prone to herm in late flower. If you like your buds really done then it might be a pain in the ass. I have also found it to be a pretty durable plant, so aside from the gender-bending it would be great to experiment on and get your feet wet. Maybe go a round with that before popping them sativas.
