Little guys. how much light?

Hello all, Fantastic to be back on the forums, its been a long, long time. Anyways, i have a couple of questions to ask, well one in particular ATM. I have some babies started from seeds, and i currently have them under 24 hour 7day a week light cycle (flourescents) they are approx. 4 inchs tall and actually stretching as if they aren't receiving enough light. I guess the question is, How long do I keep them under 24 hour light with Flourescent lights? when do i switch to metal hallide lights for vegitation growth? and when do i reduce the light cycle down from 24 hours?? please help out. thanks a bunch!

if you have better lights you can switch them now. until then, lower the flourescents to within a couple of inches of the plants.

several theories on light cycle. some people like to use 24/0 until its time to flower and then go 12/12. other people swear by 20/4 or 18/6 before going to 12/12.

you can switch to 12/12 at anytime - the longer you wait the larger the plant and the more bud you'll get.

When the plants are roughly the same size as their container I transplant them into their final container and chuck em under my 400w

As soon as they go under my 400w I change the light cycle from 24 to 18/6. Then during flowering to 12/12.
