pics please?
Hey if you put a piece of vent on that has flaps from the middle that will only open when air is forced through you would be able to better control the amount of co2 as there would only be co2 entering during specific pre set times and not when more gas is pushed through like when someone is showering. I cant remember the name it's a duct damper or something.
I'm a little scared now!IF YOU START FUCKING WITH VENT EXHAUST YOU NEED TO PUT CARBON MONOXIDE METERS IN EVERY ROOM. DO NOT FUCKING PASS GO DO NOT COLLECT 200 BUCKS. I am serious you have to put carbon monoxide detectors/alarms in every room that shit will kill you quicker than a pile of bad fugu.
Well lets see....Hmmmm, I have a natural gas stove, natural gas double oven, natural gas hot water heater, natural gas fire place, natural gas furnace/ac handler in the middle of my living room area...fuck man I even have a natural gas alarm clock and toilet and I'm still walking and talking bro. You think I'm gonna divert a little CO2 from an exhaust stack into my air tight sealed grow room and not take precautions???? Been running it for over two months and the only problem I am having is now I have twice as much bud to trim!!! And just so you know , I do hae CO monitors in my grow room and in several rooms in the house for safety. I had them in place 1 week after I bought this house 10 years ago!!!IF YOU START FUCKING WITH VENT EXHAUST YOU NEED TO PUT CARBON MONOXIDE METERS IN EVERY ROOM. DO NOT FUCKING PASS GO DO NOT COLLECT 200 BUCKS. I am serious you have to put carbon monoxide detectors/alarms in every room that shit will kill you quicker than a pile of bad fugu.
I'm setting up in my garage anyway and there's a nat gas water heater in there now just calling my name.
thanks
I don't need no stinking meters though, that's for pussies.
So putting exhaust gases back into a living area isn't a code violation? Where do you live? Nigeria?
(I guess I am a dummy, and thought a chimney was to let the gases *out* of the living areas. Silly me, I guess the chimneys aren't needed.)
He does have a Carbon Monoxide detector...where the pipe comes out..if enough was coming out to be a problem he would know right awayI want to also agree with the one who said to put carbon monoxide detectors in all your rooms if your doing this.
Carbon monoxide is lighter than air, so a carbon monoxide leak will actually start filling the upper areas of a building. You may have safe or no reading in a basement room while a 2nd floor may be building up dangerous levels.
"IF" you happen to notice something is going wrong in the building, e.g. being tired, and others feeling sick, you may have VERY LITTLE time to get out into fresh air. Even then, if you get out you may still have enough carbon monoxide in your body it could be too late without medical attention. The carbon monoxide in your system will actually cross the lung blood barrier easier than oxygen and it will prevent new oxygen from getting into your blood stream before the C.monoxide has a chance to leave your body.
How do I know? I got sick from it from using a kerosene heater that malfunctioned. I woke up like I was drunk, and the windows had a soot layer on it. The wick was not adjusted right.
This is some dangerous stuff. Tread lightly on taking risks with it.
It's working like a champ.I know this is an old thread but i just wanted to see how your free co2 setups were going? I have a natural gas heater literally on the other side of my flower room wall calling my name.
Glad I could help bro. Mines working great and saving and making some nice green at the same time. Keep in touch and let me know how it works out for you.Great job...
Saw this yesterday. Was in lowes today, everything finished and running already. My setup is a bit different, but this was the guiding light.
Now the wifey can take as long and hot of showers as she wants.
Thanks for putting your work out there.
