hey guys i need some help. first off let me say that i am a commercial grower been doin it for many years and i have always found i prefer using multiple 400 watt light as opposed to using fewer 600 or 1000 watt. lights. i like the 400s cause i can normally get them with in 7-9 inches of my canopy with out burning(when proporly cooled). how ever this grow something is a lil different. i have a crop going right now they are 2 weeks and a day old and i can not seem to get the lights any closer than 20in. of the canopy without the leave tips curling up(indicating heat stress). the rooms stays with in 72-76. there is good ventilation, and many oscilating fans..any help would be greatly appreciated.

So, are they just apearing brighter or are they producing better, higher lumens??
the reason they produce brighter light is cuz of the glass on the bulb. not shure exactly but it alows more light penetration therefore more light...

if you want more lumens you can put a 430 watt. bulb on a 400 watt balast

Burnbig,
How is your intake? Could be lack of fresh air.....

Also are they curling up or straight leafed like they are praying? If they are curling thats stress, if its praying you may need more calmag. Hence the term praying for magnesium.
