Hey everyone,

Alright, it's now been 3 days since the dark period (of 30 hours) and I can really see rapid growth and pistils shooting out everywhere.

Of course, I had no doubt these were girls, I bought them as clones from a grow shop.

I didn't take too much pics (didn't want to disturb my girls).

Hey Hookd,

Yea, that's basically what I did. I turned off the lights for 30 hours and then started on 12/12. This is supposed to speed up the flowering process (at the start) and makes the plants know for sure that it's time to flower.

You don't have to do it, but it doesn't hurt either.

Oh sweet! Good to know! Doesn't make a bigger or lesser chance of hermy or anything?.. That's cool either way, I may have to do this to sex my bagseed plants... Just to know weather male or female so I know weather I need to start germinating some more!

Well, I know that you can turn your plants into hermies if you interrupt their "sleep". In Veg it's not really a problem.. I mean if you give them 2-3 hours of light during the night it will stress them but nothing really terrible will happen. However, it only takes 15-30 minutes to screw up a plant in flowering. You'll cause it huge amounts of stress and there's a very good chance of turning it hermie.

Giving a plant dark hours just before starting flowering is basically like giving someone a red bull 1 hour before a marathon. It just kick starts the process of flowering; the plant "panics" because there's no light and it starts producing the hormones needed for flowering as fast as it can. It's a kind of survival thingy... It want's to grow as high and as big as it can so the chances of being polinated (cummed on haha) by a male plant are higher, that way she can produce seeds that will grow next spring...

Males also grow very fast during flowering to acheive the same effect (well, just the other way around).

How come you bought seeds? I see a lot of people buy seeds... Isn't it just easier to buy a clone from a grow shop? Or are you growing a special strain that you couldn't find...? Peace

Looks like they grew alot looking for light. A bigger plant is not always a better plant. Lookin up though.

lol, I didn't buy any seeds. I get clones from a fellow grower. And from a dealer I got a hand full of nug seeds cuz he said that HE'S never going to use them. So they might aswell go to somebody that will! I got hooked up with like 35 seeds that day. lol, and have only germinated 3... So I've got an abundance of seeds. At the moment anyways.
I would never buy seeds I don't think. It just looks like to much of a rip off to me. I mean really, 50+ bucks for 5 seeds... right..... And some even MORE than that... Yea... I'd rather spend my money at a strip joint or somethin! haha

Hahaha yea man, seeds are indeed a rip off. Anyway, good luck germinating the rest of the seeds. Speaking of clones I just made some today; though I'm out of soil and have no idea where to buy rockwool, so I stuck up em in some water like roses lol.

they look nice but veg for 3 months they should be bigger, how much food you giving them ppm wise? also you need to space them out more, try growing one plan next time with at least a 600 watt for veg plus flower but preferably a 1000. overall they look real healthy, you just got to many plants bunched up space them out. i use 15 gal pots for last 2 weeks of veg and all of flower. keep me updated i will help you out homie

Well I did veg them for over 3 months. Almost 3 and half months actually, don't they look that old?

I don't really get what you mean with PPM (sorry, I've seen the term many times but never figured out what it meant...)

I just bought some Hesi Bloom Complex today and fed them for the first time with it. I don't really know the pH because I never thought it was that important (noob lol). I ordered some slips the other week though and I'm still waiting for em - I think they should be here soon.

As for the lights well, when I first started out this grow I thought a 250 would be fine. Then last week I realised it wasn't going to cut it so I bought a 600w. A could no way afford a 1000w for this grow. Next grow maybe, but not for now unfortunately.

Read the post below this, I'll have some updates on today.

And as for my original question do you think I can get 3 or 3.5 ounces per plant?

UPDATE : DAY 4 INTO FLOWERING

Hey guys,

After spending a few hours on the site's IRC, a couple of growers (delux and king, thanks) told me to go trim the bottom 1/3 of the plant. This is due to the fact that the the branches and buds down there don't get much light and won't produce as much as the top of the plant. So, they're basically using up energy for nothing...

I got busy and this is what the girls look like now.

The other thing I did today, was I went out to my local grow shop and bought 2 sorts of nutes : Hesi Bloom Complex and Hesi Phosphorous Plus. Now, as you can see in the pictures the bottles are in German, but whatever. Btw, the Hesi TNT Complex was for vegging only.

I filled a bucket full with 10L of water and put in 50ml of Bloom Complex, as it says on the bottle. This was their first feeding of blooms nutes, (or "bud blood" as some call it ) done at full strength.

Obviously, the pH is lowered when adding nutes, which can result in nutrient lock out, but for the moment I can't do shit about it because my pH slips haven't arrived yet. Anyway, I did pretty well throughout veg without ever checking the pH, so hopefeully things will go smoothly anyway.

As the chart says, Bloom Complex is for use throughout the whole flowering stage, whereas Phosphorous Plus comes into play from the 4th week and onwards.

Well in that case I gave em bloom nutes at full strength today.

I'd say good call with the sorta "lollipopping" I have to do the same to mine because I grow with CFL's, I get almost zero light penetration to the lower of the plant, so I basically do the same thing, just to a bush instead of a tree.

I only realised a few days ago that the Super Silver Haze will take a month more than the others to finish flowering. At least she will have the grow room all to herself lol
