I definitely got high the first time although ive heard kids say they didnt get high.
Trust me if you smoke enough of some good stuff you definitely will get high the first time.
Maybe its the shitty lightbulb vaporizer he tried to use HAHAHAHA

Same here. Didn't get high at all the first time I smoked. Go ahead and toke up again tonight...you will definately feel it the 2nd time around

make sure you inhale air into your lungs before exhaling the hit. inhaling makes sure all the smoke/vapor makes it into your lungs. hold it in for a few seconds (any longer is pointless) then exhale slowly

I think the reason why some people dont get high the first time is due to one or more of the following reasons.
Not properly inhaling
not smoking enough
smoking dirt
paranoia
Technically its seems to be almost impossible for you not to get high unless something was wrong
and yeah do like bluewizard said....I think thats why bong hits get some people so stoned because they dont inhale properly otherwise and a bong pretty much makes you.

I don't get why some people don't get high their first time. I know I did. I think with some people they don't know what to expect so they can't tell if they're high.

I have a friend with whom I smoke often, and he still doesn't hold in his hits for more than one second, and doesn't usually inhale once he's taken a hit in. Doesn't clear the piece either if there's smoke left in it. Apparently the smoke is too harsh for him (he doesn't smoke anything else), and I think he also forgets to do it as he gets higher and he's not used to the technique. He gets high, but I think it's mainly because of the sheer amount that we smoke.
I'm still workin' with him.

I'm not sure a gravity bong would do the trick, but I'll try it. I'll either make a cheap one, or we have someone who blows beautiful glass pieces that we could ask. We've talked about going in together on a Super Vapezilla, but it never materialised due to financial reasons. I don't think I'd buy any other vapourizer if I was to make such an investment. maby you should reconsider smoking. i got high the first time, no make that stoned off my ass (at 12), and have been hooked since.
its great stuff, but its not for everyone.
i have friends who dont smoke at all and are as cool as anyone else, i also have friends who smoke all of the time, and i had other friends that i smoked with (and trusted) for years who are now pathetic crackheads looking to score one more rock at any cost.
i guess my point is that you dont really need to smoke unless you feel its right for you. as much as i love getting high it has cost me an untold amount of money, an occaisional job, and a fairly impressive criminal record. and yet i still love to smoke!! if i had never took the first hit i could have been a rocket surgeon or a mortgage broker (just minutes from a degree) or any other professional that can pass a background check.
dont get me wrong, the choise is , of course, yours, and i expect youve probably already made it. just be sure that you make this choice and not your friends because it does change you.

cheap one... you need a 2liter and a metal bowl... and a bathtub/sink/something big enough to put the 2lt in and fill it up with water...

It would be interesting to have a completely self-contained glass gravity bong. But yeah, I've seen what a gravity bong can do... and what extremely stoned people can do to it. Such as accidentally blowing the weed into the aforementioned sink by moving it the wrong way. Haha.
The glass pieces he makes are usually free (the ones we get, at least), as he spends a lot of his time practicing, and enjoys a good challenge.

Where'd the young buck go? I think you fellows scared him off. I guess as long as we're sharing stories.... The first time i smoked i was 14 and was smoking out of a bong "Mcguyvered" out of a soda bottle and a trumpet mouthpiece. I ended up coughing on the bathroom floor for about ten minutes, then got back on the horse and never looked back...
