A very risky grow

Those pics seem a bit more frosty due to the covering of my light and use of flash. Here is an alternate picture of the same WMD, although thi picture does not capture the true frostiness

i like the operation you got going. i wouldn't say anything, just keep on growing until they really become noticeable. i do like the leaves/flowers in disguise ideas though. good luck!

I didn't think that was a good idea, until I considered scrogging. Clipping them onto the screen would be easier on the plant. Plus, it is probably common practice to grow other plants through a screen like that. I just have to do more research to find out which ones. I passed along some rep for his idea, you should do the same too if this works (or even if not, it is a good idea)

Nice setup!!

If i were you, id stay indoor as outdoor the landlord could find your plants and call the cops.

But if you have a lease then the landlord cannot come into your place if you do not agree!
If it as to be inspected somehow, simply close your bedroom door, they don't have and can't get in your bedroom so indoor is safer for you.

I understand sun is cheap and powerfull, but outdoor the plants will get big enough to be seen and i think it dosnt worth the risk anyway.

Cheers.

Update: I just got back from meeting a fellow grower with 20 acres of land. Chances are good that I will be doing most of my growing there this summer. However, the interest this journal has generated prevents me from abandoning this plan entirely. Plus, if it succeeds, imagine the inspiration imparted to future growers. I just fimmed a pplant today that I think might be a good candidate for the deck, although I am unsure of its sex, smell, or genetics. We have plenty of time to clone it, sex it, and flower it to get some idea.

I will be meeting with my new friend tomorrow, we are going to check out his site, and possibly start digging holes. I will get some pics.

Just got back from checking out the site and talking details. Some very interesting possibilities....

This land would be rented from the landlord for $600 a month, and he is cool with us growing out there. However, we were thinking that if we had more people out there, each subletting their own space of land, we could make rent ridiculously cheap. There are already a couple of folks that live on the property (in tents) who have offered to be security during the grow in exchange for getting to live there rent free. There are also a few folks interested in another aspect of the grow, which would be the vegetable garden used to conceal the grow from public view. This place has enough potential to accomodate 50+ farms (our state has a 6 plant limit) if the landlord lets it fly. I am thinking this has potential to be a huge co-op, maybe even famous.

I will be talking to the landlord in the next few days and will report back whatever news there is to report. For now some pics of the lot. About 20 acres, good soil, secluded. Can't wait to talk to the landlord

No word from my friend about talking to the landlord. But he left his hat in my car so I will hear from him sometime.

In the meantime, I have been working like a dog the last two days updating the ventilation system on the indoor stealth cabinet. My initial design had a number of flaws, and temps often got up to 90 degrees a few inches above canopy level after 12 hours with my 250 watt HPS, even with my cooltube.

I fixed it on the cheap. But quality. I also redid my carbon filter, as my previous DIY attempt was no longer effective after 10 months of use. This new one works better and should last a full year. And the results with this fan after one night are amazing. And halfway through the second night, they look better. I have it on the lowest possible setting, but it is not too loud even at full blast.

I took a ton of pics of the process and might make a tutorial. That will come later, if I get bored. Right now, I am still busy working on a cleaner wiring scheme for the computer fans. In the meantime, I took some pics of the finished product. Keep in mind, I still have tons of work to do, but am simply sick and tired of working in there and it is good enough for now.

What size light are you running in that cab?

BTW I forgot all about those clones, I'm sorry about taking so long.
It's not totally my fault though, I just started dating this amazing girl and am in that "can't get her out of my head" phase.
If they're gone no worries.

That is a 250 watter. Now that I have temps under control, I am going to also throw 4-8 23 watt CFLs in there.

Clones are gone for now, but feel free to come by whenever and take some cuttings. I have:

Black Domina
WMD
Rainwreck

And soon:

Sour Diesel
God Bud
Unknown female bagseed

Ok, thanks man. I'll be in touch.
Those are some nice strains. Bagseed sounds a little out of place in that lineup though. :)

Who knows what the bagseed will be like, but yeah, it is way out of place! With the quality of weed we get in this area, even from the shady yet helpful folks at Waterfront park, I am willing to bet I might find a place for it in the lineup. Need to flower, dry, cure, and test.

Some pictures of the pumpkins, sweet walla walla onins, and catnip. It has been unusually warm and sunny here, and my balcony stays 20 degrees above daytime temps. So these have all been out on the balcony getting real sun. Once they are big enough for visual disguise, I am going to put a clone or two out there. By the time they get stinky and flowering, my aromatic plants should be stinky enough to conceal the smell.

Also, the WMD is about ready for harvest, 2-3 more days. I trimmed and dried a small bud for testing and am currently blazed on it....good times

Harvested WMD today, included some pics.

Spring still seems like it will come early, but not early enough because I want it now!

Update: Some pics of the veggies. Pumpkins are getting huge, catnip and onions are coming along. Temps should be warm enough by mid April to put a pot plant out there.

Also, some pics of my most recent harvest, a Rainwreck plant (afgooey x trainwreck). Earlier bud samplings are killer, my best harvest yet with respect to quality

By the way, the light grey car you see behind the pumpkins belongs to my apartment manager. She also parks in the empty spot right next to it.

More updates to come...warm weather is coming in quickly

I woke up today to discover that my pumpkin has opened up a few flowers...about a month to go before we can move some plants onto the balcony.

In the meantime, my most recent indoor harvest....

EDIT - My mom tells me that Italians will pick those pumpkin flowers, bread and fry them. I think I will have to try it....

Great read. I'm subbed. I can't wait to see how you camo your plants. That cabinet looks great too.
Daniels:bigjoint:

Just got back from a month away in El Paso and got to work on my garden. One of my pumpkins died while I was away, but the other actually has a pumpkin growing. I also just planted the rest of my garden and am starting it indoors as there is still a threat of frost for another 2-3 weeks or so here in Portland.

My garden:

California Poppies
Black Eyed Susans
Lavender
Chives
Parsley
Oregano
Thai Basil
Corn
Pumpkins
Catnip
Sweet Walla Walla Onions

Indoor harvests are perpetual and keep me self sufficient, so anything that happens outdoors is just bonus. I'll throw some pictures up once the newly planted stuff sprouts.

I have some plans for how to keep this out of sight yet in full sunlight that is amazingly simple and which I will share later once I plant out there. I project only another 2-3 weeks before my babies get to bathe in the sun.

Thanks for following along everyone, starting line is not too far away...

Just some pictures now that I have transpanted al the herbs and veggies into bigger pots outdoors. You may notice a few marijuana plants among the catnip, I was cloning some of my indoor weed plants and had those leftover so I just stuck them in the dirt outside. The real ingenius yet simple way I plan to hide the weed plants will be revealed in another week or two. I want to plant sooner, as all threat of frost seems to have passed, but I want my veggies and herbs to get a ittle bigger first.
