Brown Slime on Roots, whats wrong???

I'm having serious problems with brown slime on my roots. Below is my grow log from 2 days ago. Up till 2 days ago, I had zero problem with browning of roots. I was thinking that this might be due to very weak florescent tube ambient light but am not sure at.
So far I have added 1/2 tbl per gal of grocery store bought h202. What else should I do. (Below
are pictures). All four plants have the slime build up, some worse than others. This seems strange since this has happened in 48 hours....

Emptied resevoir
Filled w/ water and half bottle of rubbing alcohol for 15 min, ran for 15 minutes
Wiped down with towel
Filled with 10 gal of Glacier water
8 tsp TB per 10 gal
7 tsp Liquid Karma (LK) per 10 gal
4 Tbl BB per 10 gal
1 tsp OpS per 10 gal
1/2 tsp Earth Juice Down per 10 gal

I had the same prob, i took the one that looked bad out, rinsed the roots in cool water, changed my water, cleaned the tubs, and added a little extra mag cal, took care of mine, did it twice to about 5 diffrent plants out of 14, heres what they look like now. just a few questions.

Are your tubs light proof. If not do that, and try to run water that is about 65 degress, that really seemed to help mine. did all that and never had anymore probs.

Whats weird is when I cleaned it out (just two days ago), I did not have this problem at all. I had some algae growth on the walls but thats why i ran the system with half a bottle of rubbing alcohol and wiped it down afterwards. I'm growing in a rubbermaid which I know other people have done with great success. I have stopped using Cal Mag but have increased the other nutrients (slightly of course). Do you really think the lack of Cal Mag could be affecting it this much?

I would never stop using mag bro. What is your PH and RH. Run the roots under some cool water and LIGHTY clean that crap off so they can breath. When mine had that prob seemed like it was choking them, im sorry i cant tell

you what it is from b/c i simply have not found out yet, just did what i knew best to do and it worked, try light proofing you tubs bud, i have rubber maid ones 4 blue ones, 2 purple, 4 clear, all have been light sealed and painted, made a bid diffrence.

My pH could be potentially low ( close to 5 rather than 5.5). Will figure out an exact reading first thing tomorrow morning. What do you mean by rh?
I've been meaning to paint my rubbermaid (blue) to black (not the best reflective material but thats not what I'm aiming for anyway).

Added 2tsp of Cal (10 gal of water). I'm kind of nervous about burning the plants since I slightly upped the nutrients since last week (approx +1 tsp per 10 gal of each nutrient, 1/4 tsp in the case of Open Sesame)
So I did what you said and the slime came off very easily. However, the roots clumped together when i did this. Will they eventually separate?

yes sir you need to read my journal a little, had some same probs, alot of good people helped me out, shit you see my roots, they are crazy, plus if you look close you can see that mine are kinda clumped at the top, and

way open at the bottom. just curious how did you pop you seeds? RH=room humidity

I guarantee that if you keep you res temps low and keep all the light out of your res you will not have this problem any more.

Soaked rockwool in a solution of pH water of approx 5.5 and a extremely diluted solution of liquid karma. Shook off excess water from rockwool and planted seeds. Placed in humidity dome on top of my t-5 to help keep it warm.

As far as room humidity, I have no idea. It definately is not extremely humid. A little dry if anything.

RH is a big deal to bro. wanna have it around 50-60% with a fan blowing air around. circulating air is a good thing. you need to get, (if you dont have) a few digital Checkers. for room temp and room Humidity. Walmart has them cheap. also while you

I feel like I've bought some unnecessary equipment too (i.e. a portable air condtioning / heating but the price was really really good). and your last quote is true. Its all an investment which should easily pay back for itself.

So slime is still there (actually I left 2 plants slimed to see if cal mag could clear it up by itself, little mini experiment). So by doing this, the one that has the extremely small root system seems to have cleared up a little BUT the slime has come back on the two plants that I washed down last night. I decided to add another tsp of Cal Mag. Its up to 3 tsp per 10 gal of water (mostly likely 11 gal since I topped off the resevoir due to the salting effect I think I am having)

Also I've noticed curling up at the leaf tips so I think I might have a salt problem too now :/.
So today I topped off my "reservoir" (if its even called that since its all encapsulated in one unit).

I've just started reading your grow log and thats some good stuff, I'm gonna read the rest of it right now.

Brown slime is a different beast than root rot, etc.

You can have really high dissolved oxygen, a light proof res, etc but brown slime dont care, in fact, it loves it!

Did you recently change anything in your nutrient regimen?

this, i have PROOF ifs bad in my journal bud. When i took care of the BROWN SLIME on my plants they took off like rockets,

no more leaf probs, no more bad growth. just curious how you think brown slime causing the roots to knot together and

not be able to breath isnt bad? at least what it was doin to mine. as i said please dont take me being a dick just curious

where the facts and proof in the pudding is?

I am wondering specifically about any organic based nutes. That brown slime LOVES organics and I know a few people who had everything going just fine until they added some organic product and BANG, the horrible slime happened.

The fact is that the brown slime is a different creature than what people usually mistake it for, root rot. It doesnt need light, it thrives in high DO environment , etc.

In all the cases I am currently aware of, the slime was brought on by adding organics or organic additives. This was what happened in my case and in all of the cases I am aware of, about 12 in total. As long as the organics where there, so was the slime.

Well I'm using Fox Farm hydro schedule at 1/3 to 1/2 strength. Im also using Cal Mag and Liquid Karma in regime. The only organic product is Big Bloom but I was using that last week with no problem.
