Weird growth on bud 8 weeks 12/12

This is my first time growing and I have 2 bagseed girls that are 8 weeks into their 12/12 life cycle and I noticed a weird growth forming on multiple buds. I was wondering if anyone has seen this before...the link in my signature has my grow journal that also addresses this problem. Thank you in advance for your diagnosis/feedback

This is a nice pic of a modified male flower...Your girl is questioning her sexuality...they are sometimes called bananas...remove them carefully and you will have a seed or two...or more.

Not so much quality at this stage, they look pretty nice, but, the "nanners" you don't find taste nasty when smoked. I had this problem on one of mine last season, did my best to inspect the plant and meticulously tweeze those things off every single day. I did pretty damned good with it, but still found a few while curing and they were a bit easier to spot. Stay on top of those things and you'll be fine.

One last question for this thread...if it gets seeds will they mature at this stage or will they just be the small white kind? or in other words how long does it take seeds to mature once a plant has been pollinated?

that plant is now officially hermi and any offspring will have hermy traits . other words if u got a mature seed and germed it the chance of developing nanners is significant . be careful when pulling nanners , turn off fan so pollen wont b spread .

I have been growing headband for over a year that does this at 5 and 9 weeks like clockwork. Not bad just a few. IMO seeing this late in flower is not a big deal if the bud is fire. The nanners are much different than regular balls. they do not open up and dump pollen. Usually just get one seed where the nanner was.

I grew Red Diesel (which sucks) and it hermies really bad and is not worth the fight. The bud had lots of tiny seed embryos along with mature and immature seeds...so it depends on how bad your strain is. Also some are stressed into this and some are genetic.

Seeds take about 4 weeks so if this is the first batch of nanners you will probably not get seeds.

Last years batch of Hijack seeds do this also...I have germed 2 seeds from my own bud and 2 from clinic buds/bags seed (most likely from the same problem) and all are female...I do not believe you can produce a genetic male seed from a confused female...the hermie trait will most likely express in the seed.

Just tweeze them off before they open and you'll be in the clear.

You'll just have to keep a close eye on them until harvest.

And if you're a breeder, it's not a trait you want to keep in your stock.
