Dense bud possible w/out c02?

if i dont have a c02 burner/machine, are my only options are find a way for fresh air or save up for a c02 kit?

Many people (myself included) don't have a way to get fresh air, and the CO2 levels in my 20x10 garage get depleted very, very quickly.

That's why I was forced to purchase all the CO2 doodads.

Got a generator, Sentinel CHHC-1 and three 20# tanks, but I'd love to be able to just have a fresh air intake and not have to worry about AC, dehumidifers, and refilling bottles.

Lucky for me, I think I might've found a fresh air source.

I say on a youtube video called ready set grow, this green face painted guy said you can mist carbonated sparkling water, and that this would release Co2? Others claim beer fermenting? Are those without burners hopeless? Has anyone overcame this challenge? Inquiring minds must want to know?

Hi, CO2 can increase yield and size but with just basic gardening skills you ought to be able to grow a nice plant with tight buds no sweat.
I use Earth Juice Grow & Bloom only. When buds are small or wispy I suspect owner operator error not the environment right off.
Often keeping the roots too wet too long can lead to crappy small buds.
So try this...get a good book on the subject and study up, you'll do great without any fancy gizmos or urban myths or even CO2. Good Luck!

hate to burst your bubble and all but the green man is wrong this time. usually he's spot on but misting w/club soda(sparkling water) will not do anything really imo(and alot of other peoples), I tried it and it made no difference for me, but his situation is a bit different so i guess its always worth a shot. make sure you spray the bottom of the leaves, thats where they absorb the c02.

If you have steady access to an outdoor air source and good air movement, than that 300PPM air should do any normal grower fine.

With a totally sealed room (my garage, with no windows or vents, kinda), my CO2 levels get down to the double digits (<100) and stay there (without my added CO2, obviously), which greatly retards my plant's growth.

Even with the $2K I've dropped on CO2 equipment (and getting ready for more with summer coming on, like another $1-2K on ACs), I'd have to seriously think about just using outside air if it was easy and discreet enough for me.

Technically this does work, but it's just not worth it in the cost/benefit analysis of things - this method ends up being MUCH more expensive than either a generator or tanks very, very quickly.

what are you growing in? how many plants? if its a smaller grow you might be able to get away w/ no vents and just open the door a few times a day.

NO! you dont have to have co2 but your yeild would be way better with
deff. if you have a lot of plants

i grow a predominant sativa strain and it ALWAYS comes out dence as shit! but i use CHA CHING in the 5th week of flowering. that hardens them pretty nice. HPS usually does a decent amount of dencity its self tho?

Lol...........you really think I haven't thought of that? Not trying to be a dick, but really?

Anyways, there's also the security aspect of the noise of high-powered fans creating noise out the wazoo.........it's actually something I'm working on right now, and I think I might've figured something out.

Of course, I'm still planning on using my generator for all but the hottest (3 or 4) months of the year.

If doing a "bare bones" simple setup, you'll need a tank, a regulator, some CO2 tubing (just like aquarium tubing but with really little holes), and a timer.

That's it; should run you <$300 all-in, especially if you use Craigslist to your advantage (I got three 20# tanks for $125 from there).

search 'duct muffler' for links to product that works pretty well. also, have you thought of getting a speed controller for your fan so you can dial it down to the speed needed to get sufficient ventilation.

Thanks; pretty well informed of what I need (I'm a research-a-holic), so an aluminum muffler and some other things are up there on the list.

Took out the link from my journal (because I'm starting a new one soon with 9 plants/sf that I meant to put in there), but there's been some heavy talk of my HVAC trials and tribulations for the past couple of days.

On the cheap side, I used to fill up a large paintball gun tank. I wouldnt hook it up to the gun, I'd press the top and blast in CO2 for a couple seconds. I would let that amrinate for 5 minutes before the fan came on. I swore it made a diffrence. Try it, its cheap. I filled up the bottle for 3.95 and it last about a month. If Im corrrect, plants just gather CO2 in the day and released it at night. Any little bit of CO2 is better than none. Also, since noise is an iussue, can You set up multiple low noise passive fans?

if your grow room has any access to an a/c duct, can you intsall an inline fan in the a/c duct and pull in fresh air from there?

the main problem i have with this method of making extra co2 is 1once you wet the leaves they wont be able to breath anything in. 2 even if the wet leaf could breath once they use up that small amount of co2 then what which is seconds, that's equal to you pouring a cup of liquid o2 down in to your lungs IF IT worked you'll only be able to breath for a few more seconds then thats it if it worked
what you need is a steady supply of co2
freash air
burning hydrocarbon
tanked co2
and even small animal liveng in you grow room

i personaly dont think that the sugar yeast method or the mushroom method actural work WELL! the court is still out on them
