Okay so they pass it into law. Who will then still say no thanks or fuck you? I will. I won't be participating, won't be paying for it and won't be using it. They will have to lock me up, sort of an irony there since they think the passage of the bill is for my own good. I'll decide what's for my own good. Anybody else?

The nuclear option does not refer to reconciliation. it does refer to an attempt by the repubs back in 2005 to change senate rules. it wasn't about reconciliation.

A reconciliation bill in the early 80's made cuts to welfare programs and raised taxes.. A 1985 bill established the Cobra health-insurance program.
Many big bills were passed under reconciliation -– the deficit-reduction bills of 1990 and 1993, for instance. Welfare changes and the Children’s Health Insurance Program both passed under reconciliation.
Bush’s big tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 also passed under reconciliation even though they reduced government revenues instead of balancing the budget.
Republicans argue that the reconciliation process should only be used for bipartisan bills, and since they refuse to vote on health reform, Democrats can't get a vote.
Reconciliation HAS NOT been limited to bipartisan bills. The 1995 Balanced Budget Act was passed in reconciliation. The final vote was 52 to 47. The 2001 Bush Tax Cut was passed in reconciliation. The final vote was 58 to 33. The 2003 Bush Tax Cut was passed in reconciliation. The final vote was 50 to 50, with Dick Cheney casting the tie-breaking vote. The 2005 Deficit Reduction Act was also passed in reconciliation with a 50 to 50 vote and a Cheney intervention. The 2006 Tax Relief Extensions Act was passed in reconciliation. The final vote was 54 to 44. If bills had overwhelming bipartisan majorities, they wouldn't need to go through reconciliation.

"they" are not throwing rules - "they" are abiding by the rules in the same manner the Republicans have done in the past.
there is a vast majority who want health reform.

NOBODY who needs this 'Health Bill' will truly benefit..only the ones who stand to make money from it. And the reference to the pathetic 'Cobra Bill' is a perfect example of a horrible bill that only benefits a FEW. Really... stop and think for one moment...if you LOSE your JOB (for what ever reason) you are allowed thru the COBRA act to continue your health coverage...at a RATE THAT IS 2-3 times HIGHER than what you were paying when you had it in the first place. What a crock of shit. SHOW US some low to middle class persons who can really AFFORD to pay those kinds of rates for continued health coverage when they lose their jobs. You can't. PERIOD. This so-called 'Health Bill' is the same song and dance. The SAME government who STILL LISTS cannabis as a 'Schedule 1 drug' (this is above crack and cocaine) is trying to 'help you' with a better solution to the health crisis. Please...

What is wrong with leaving people alone and expecting the same? You see the bill as helpful, good for you, then you should be free to participate.
I see the bill as invasive, coercive and nanny state. I should be free NOT to participate.
If you believe others should make your choices for you, that's fine by me.
