Jamaican Weed

I was just watching a show on Jamaica and I was wondering if their weed is any good. I don't really see any strains coming from there but they grow so much so you'd think they'd have really good stuff.

Just stoned and curious. Anyone out there smoke any in Jamaica?

i spent 2 months in Jamaica with my wife... we did a 2 week honey moon in negril then tripped out around the country for the rest of the time... Im not the scariest looking guy, but im bearded with pretty long dread locks.. and my wife is a tiny japanese girl:) I have to admit there were times where we didnt feel very comfortable, like jamaican independence day... HORROR... we tryed to go to a public beach... my wife was bugged by Every dude there.. hahah but as they say... NO PROBLEM MAN!!!
now to the bud... Negril is the place to be for jamaican ganja... Orange hill has some of the best outdoor ive every smoked!!! all their weed is pretty smooth to smoke.. even if you smoke big pure pipes:) their hash on the other hand was crap, but then aagain i live in europe where we get a whole lot of morrocan and afghan hash... and ice o lator from time to time...
here are a few pics of some of the stuff i got in JA... Some of it may look shwaggy, but take my word for it, It tasted heavenly.. and if you check out my ther bud shots on my profile, youll see ive smoked some pretty Good stuff throughout my life:)

Enjoy the JAmaican bud Porn :) Peace

I had stopped in Jamaica when I went on a cruise back in 2003. I wasn't smoking back then so I never tried any of their stuff. I do remember being pestered by the locals to buy joints though.

Jamaica, to me, appears to be a place where they haven't messed with the genetics of their plants. I imagine it's just grow and smoke there. Not much for increasing yield/potency by growing from the best plants from the crop.

I could be wrong but I imagine if they had been growing to advance their genes we would have seen some seeds or strains coming from there. I don't really hear anything coming from Jamaica though. I don't think it's in their culture to work on things like that. It's probably really low on their list of things to work on in their society because of all of the political, economical, and criminal issues they experience down there.

Any Jamaican's want to chime in?

Nice :)

I imagine they grow nothing but trees down there. They've probably never heard of the word "indica".
Actually the big tree days are over in JA... Obviously every plantation has a couple trees, but they mostly grow little bushy plants no higher than your chest...
The growers there, dont actually bother breeding for yield and quality but they look for seeds that are resistant to disease and mold...,
Surprisingly enough your average Jamaican knows the kind of high he is getting from the stick he is smoking... head high, or body high...
BY now alot of foreigners have brought back seeds to jamaica, from the US and Europe and alot of the strains they are growing now are not actual jamaican strains but our strains growing in their environment...
What is nice out there is that with very little work, they grow average gear thats very smokable..:)

take it easy... & PEACE OUT:)

Been to jamaica, but I was younger then, didn't smoke.

Although I can't tell you how jamaican weed is, I can tell you about my jamaican roommate. He likes to wake up at 8AM and blast awful jamaican music. Now I usually dont judge music like this, but after listening to it for a semester and a half, I still struggle to find any aesthetic or artistic value to jamaican music at all. It simply sucks.

jamaicans also tend to carry a stronger smell with them, my whole room smells like that same jamaican marketplace I remember so many years ago, sharp body odor, musty dreads, and cocoa butter linger in the room, even after coming back from winter break (over a month) the smell still lingered.

Now if this wasn't bad enough, I regret to say that my jamaican roommate doesn't even smoke weed. Yeah, its probably the worst combo, but then again, if he DID smoke weed he would probably jack all of mine like he does with all of my food.

So now that you've heard the story of my jamaican roommate, please just hope you never get a jamaican roommate.

i went there with my wife for honeymoon a few years back, we went to negril

man that bud was the bomb! i have tried so many dispensaries in la that say they have the jamaican lamb's bread, but none are anywhere near the true jamaican bomb stuff

i brought seeds back, at that time had no clue what i was doing and sadly killed 'em all =\ such a lovely smoke, the taste of the stuff i got was unmistakable, the high was soaring and UP! super bomb buds for sure

I think the question is.... Why not?
It is only typical for seedbanks to take amazing, extremely rare, exotic sativas and cross breed them with shitty, large yielding, low growing indicas.. they take an amazing strain and turn it into a cash crop with a pretty name.

Keep the original genetics, let it grow tall, let it be difficult to grow, stick with the smaller yields, and smoke the most amazing weed you will ever smoke.
