The body load/day after effects tell me it's not 5-MeO-AMT.. although I did consider it a possibility

I often got the metal mouth from LSD alone... I don't think its anything to go by, its just how you are wired... I pretty much can get it on any chemical...

The big kicker is this:

the taste i tasted was bitter.

That with the whole metal sensation makes me think strongly it was a DOx.

A common saying is,"If it's bitter, it's a spitter." Upon tasting the chemical, if one notices a highly bitter or "chemically" taste, this should serve as a warning sign that the drug is not LSD, but likely a psychedelic amphetamine (DOC, DOB or DOI).

I am leaning more towards DOM or DOB.

Although it must be noted that the absence of a bitter taste does not necessarily mean the blotter contains LSD, detecting other blotter substrate drugs like 5-MeO-AMT or Bromo-DragonFLY

I took into consideration (initially) Bromo and 5-MeO-AMT.. but as stated, they are not bitter.

According to Shulgin, the effects of DOM typically last 14 to 20 hours, though other clinical trials indicate a duration of 7 to 8 hours

DON:
DURATION: 8 - 15 h.

^ I have had DON, his experience sounds nothing like it.

DOI:
DURATION: 16 - 30 h.

DOB:
DURATION: 18 - 30 h.

DOC:
DURATION: 12 - 24 h.

So according to this, the best guesses would be:

DOM
DON
DOC

Granted we are talking about a low dosage, he said the experience was 6-8 hours and if you felt some effects on waking, chances are it may have still been going a little when you fell asleep.

I'm pretty sure the tartrate form of LSD has a bitter taste to it, whether a miniscule amount would precipitate such effects I have no idea, but it would lead on to believe is has a better solubility into mucosal membranes.

LSD-25 in general has a slightly bitter taste to it.. it is just a matter of you can not taste it in microgram dosages. Especially with the description of the trip, we'd only be in the ~50µg area.

Weird enough.. it kind of sounds like a low dosage of DOM (2,5-Dimethoxy-4-methylamphetamine)...

Metallic taste's can be attributed to DOM and DOB (I am sure there are more.. but these are the 'common' ones). If it was either (which due to a couple of other things you've said I wouldn't doubt), it was indeed a low dosage.

To me this screams Amphetamine. Amphetamines are known to cause bruxism (teeth grinding). Some people also suffer from tinnitus after partaking in amphetamines (which I do believe is temporary). I could definitely see the "chewing on metal" deal here, and if your ears were temporarily "damaged" (if you will, maybe inflamed is a better word), I could also see the amplified hearing.

None of those effects strike me as anything similar to LSA. I have personally done DOx's and I can tell you first hand they do not take three hours to come up. Also, keep in mind he said he had indulged in a couple of firecrackers and that his time perception may have been off.

In regard to LSA on blotter:

LSA also requires about 10 to 20 times the dose of LSD and thus is possible to fit on blotter, but is extremely unlikely to be found that way.

that test kit is something im going to keep in mind. i doubt ill come across blotter often though. it only took me 4 years and the act of moving to a major city to find this. and it wasnt even real hahaha but either way at least i can add an experience to my list. anyone else find a strange sense of accomplishment when trying something new?
