i forgot the proper name for it but my condenser mics have these little things,

it has to do with starting the DB at 0.0

well...you are kinda right.

they are found on different kinds of mics.
i think the term for the starting dB's at 0 is padding, which some mics have and sometimes can also be found on pre amps.

but these are actually just the patterns that the mic picks up.

this one happens to be off of an AKG c414

Those things looked so damn familiar but I could not place it! And I spent thousands of dollars on audio engineering. lol. c414 is one of my favorites tho for sure.

ya i have the 414 and the 214, they make great room mics as well as vocal mics.
