Hey SL, what did you use insead of neoprene collars? And if you used the neoprene, where did you find it?
That's a bloody good question... We've got a Clarke Rubber here but I guarantee it will be closed tomorrow due to our Public Holiday... They sell Neoprene sheets, I think you can just cut them up... We can't buy Rubbermaid Ruffneck containers either...Will have to find a close substitute...

Ah well i pulled my cloner out spur of the moment when i hadnt even planned to use it yet but i snapped a nice branch off by acco so i thought mite as well use it..anyways all i had on hand was some styrofoam cups so i just cut it down 90% , cut a slit in the bottom of the cup and stuck the stem thru..then jammed it in the hole..
But! then i went out and bought u know those kiddy rubber play mats, used for pilates and shit..and cut the circular collars out of them, u can get different colors and color code according to strain..
Im also pretty sure u can get neoprene from clark rubber..

longwinded response but on purpose cos im bored and hyper and without weed.:wall:

they have the perfect containers at bunnys guys/gals, they are a opaque sky blue color, 65 litres perfect, u just need to spray paint em so they are not see thru and they have a perfect smooth lid for the collars to sit in..also they dont buckle outwards with all that water and u can get the lid on right so it dont leak but theres a knack to it..
hopefully they stock 'em where u at..
oh and get the 1200lph pump

Edit: i thought id add that i drilled 2 inch holes for the net pots but could never find 2 inch net pots but u dont need to use net pots so i just went without
If u want to use 'em, just have a squiz thru ebay and find the smallest netpot and drill according to size

SL they are now selling sterilite storage containers at bunnings. They are matte blue, have a tight fitting lid, and the lid is flat with good surface area. They're the closest things to the US tubs we have.

I think a 35L tub should be plenty in most cases.

I am definately heading to bunnings today...Will be on the look out for the tubs and pump...:-)

My problem is this... When I transfer the cuttings with roots from the cloner into my big tent, They are just going to be plants with roots... They will have no support in the clayballs when I put them into bigger pots, how can I fix this situation? Can I use rockwool cubes and painstakingly cut slightly smaller square holes in the top of the cloner instead of circles, to replace the neoprene holders? I need rockwool for stability in my bigger pots... Any ideas?????

No, the rw would get too wet..
The clayballs will support the clone fine

Correcto. For extra stability, sit the clone deeper in the clay balls giving a lower centre if gravity, and/or stake them out. The roots will bind up in the clay balls quickly enough.

Hi everyone... Built my aero cloner today... With the help of my hubby and eightenough.... Two hardware stores later and I got everything I needed... I am very happy.... Got the Sterlite Container that 's the closest thing to the Rubbermaid Ruffneck here in Oz... I am chuffed...:-)

I decided to only go with eight clones at a time as I am trying to drop back the amount of plants I have at my house.... So I know its a bit overkill but the humidity chamber is great for seedlings, but I find the cuttings don't like it as much... This was heaps fun to build... For more information, check my journal...

Lacey that contraption looks very impressive. I hope it works out for you. Guess what people the mother in law has left so its time for the rhino. I just spent the last hour carting my cupboard back down from the attic bc its so bloody hot up there its would not have been pretty. Anyway i have abandoned my last jounal as it ended up outside and was not the CFL grow that i set out to achieve. I am getting 2 computer fans to install soon. I think i will grow 2 littlies under the cfls that i have. Stay tuned for the new journal.
