*Seeds yeild more than clones*

I am a person that likes to grow from seed because (A) you know what your geting 100% every time a good quality strong plant.

I have taken clones before and have had good success but i found the consistancy of the quailty of the growing plant and the yeild would suffer as opposed to a plant from seed.

Now i'm no expert and i found this paragraph which again makes me thinks growing from seed is better. I'm gutted because i have some really expensive seeds which i would like to clone so i'm open to opinions and advice are clones as big a plant/yeild as the same plant grown from seed?

Seeds:

Advantages

Seeds obtained from reputable seed banks are of known lineage and genetics. You should have a reasonable idea of what the strain will do in terms of yield, quality and flowering time.

Hybrid vigor. Females grown from seed are often higher yielding than clones. Strains can lose their vigor over time; growers may want to 'rejuvinate' their grow with the same successful strain.

I disagree; if you have a good quality plant as a mother your clones will be EXACTLY like the mother. From seed you run into the problem of having males; some times it is not a bad thing but for most I think it is.

i prefer clones as you know what your getting as it is a genetic replica of the mother plant, and it isnt actually possible to lose a vigor in a strain as even if the plant is poorly because of bad conditions it will still have the same genetics ergo the same potential, people have had same strain for decades without losing their vigor. but saying that both have their advantages. if you havnt found a strain you absolutely love then obv you need to experiment, with different seeds but when you do and you wanna have that exact strain over and over then i havent found any better way of getting more weed, by doing a sog from clones.

Where the hell is "B". I was hoping you were going to make sense of what you stated because "A" sure as hell didn't! Why start from scratch again? You are not doing it right if your clones suck!:wall:

If you're growing mother and clones to maturity in the same enclosure, the clones will be smaller than mom, but same type and potency.

I also prefer to start with good seeds from a seed bank, so I know what I'm growing. There are so many incredible strains to choose from, why screw around with bag seed.

Since my grow space is limited, I maximize yield by growing one plant, then clone the shit out of the lower branches. I can grow 1 mother and 12 smaller clones, yielding about 3.5 to 4 oz.

Its like taking the lower branches that would not get much light, and moving them to where they will get plenty of it. Clones and mother are different sizes, so they can be arranged to get maximum light.

When they are done, Its on to a different strain. Next up: "Purple Wreck."

So it seems from the replies clones do produce as big a yeild as a plant grown from seed.

That's only if the clone taken has been (cloned) correctly if so then it will yeild the same and grow as well as the original plant from seed.

Ok i will clone again maybe i f**ked up on a couple with the way i took it poor clones hense i got a weak plant as a result.

This is good news since i have expensive seeds so i will now clone away. :bigjoint:
