i wanna see.... back to your fan i bought a max fan for that exact reason its sooooo quiet....someone said on here a while back to build a box around your fan then suspend the box in the air with bungee cords and the vibrations will be cut down alot...i have never tried it but they said it sounds good.
yeh I was thinking of suspending the fan from the ceiling, but because I wanted to fix it straight into the filter It was way to heavy. :-?
Its making this mad buzzing noise at the moment cuz I got it turned down low so I will have to find the time to stick the fan in the attic rest it on that insulation stuff and cover it up to!

so what I did is got some 2x2 wood and fixed it to the floor around the edge of the room next I just fixed mdf board to it so it is raised and covered it with a damp proof membrane making a water trap in the middle.
I find doing this makes life alot easier I use alot of water and trays just dont cut it for me, so the water vac comes out and up the water goes. plus the plants are well insulated from the concrete floor

The temps are still low and the light is like 7-8 inches from the canopy, the highest temp at the one minute delay on the end was 22celsius and is around 19 in the middle not ideal I know

some pics of my buds here

Hi ppl, I think I'm getting good results with the 600w and light rail:bigjoint:

pic 1-2 are six days ago, pic 3-4 are today, the last 2 pics are of my water trap.

I done some lst and had a tiny bit of nute burn in the middle of the week, I should'nt of let my coco dry up so much between waterings. lesson learned

what do ya'all think?

plants look like there lovin that light mover? you can really see the difference in the couple of days?

couple of questions:
do you have any issues with heat on the type of hood your using ..or loss light from the reflector?

and the water trap are you having any humidiy issues with all that standing water..i know you shop vac the water up after watering how much of a pain in the ass is that?

Hi redi, been using these hoods for awhile and whilst they are static I do find I sometimes get some hotspots, this was more likely todo with poor air ciculation than the hoods tho. the hoods are textured so in theory they should diffuse the light more evenly kinda like the diamond reflective mylar and I like the fact I can bend them to direct the light as I seem fit. There is one hotspot at the moment with the light rail this is right in the centre of the rail. So now I'm keeping the light 12inches from canopy and all is well.
The only heat issues I got at the moment is the cold. the readings are 18c - 21c. the light is on 24/0 but will revert to 20/4 when more lights go up:fire:

The thing with coco is that you have to allow for 30% runoff when watering and you dont want to leave this water hanging around! This system works best for me and is alot quicker than emptying the water from trays it only takes about 10mins zap up the water now. watering was a pain in the ass:wall: before using this method

humidity levels are ok it ranges from 40 -55% and the highest it gets when watering and the ditch is full is 65%ish but soons goes down to a resonable level when im done with the vac.

Overall I'm very pleased with how this going, but it still aint finished yet. There is still alot of spending todo

Nice grow smart setup Could u do a diy on ya hydro system
the only thing I can think off is a diy dwc this is how I would do it.

I would get the biggest plastic box I could find preferably with a lid if not I would but a strong sheet of hard platic for a lid.

depending on cost, either get the dwc pots or make my own by cutting loads of holes in a normal pot

next make holes in the lid for your pots, and add some air pumps
