Uhhhhh, not that I'm aware of. Hemp is extremely low in THC. So much so, that it won't get you high. It's still illegal wherever cannabis is illegal. I guess that's because it is cannabis. If you grew some hemp you would probably get just as much time as you would if you were growing some Jack the Ripper. Maybe try some of that fake bud advertised here. I hear it's awful, but it doesn't sound like you want good herb so it may work for you. :weed:

Most the legal herb I tried doesnt taste like weed at all. Smells like it a tad a suppose. Mainly just gives you a headache and sore throat from smoking it.

Most any plant that looks like bud is not worth smoking. The harmful effects from inhaling the burned plant matter just arent worth it. Most fake pot is a mixture of herbs sprayed with some crap synthetic liquid that makes you feel "high".

Otherwise some of it is buds from a plant called Lamb's Ear. Look up "Lamb's Ear Buds" on google images and you'll see what I mean. I hear its not smart to smoke it though.

There is no such thing as a cannabis strain with zero THC. Even the weakest of ruderalis, as well as male plants all have some. Which is why every form of cannabis is illegal.

just leave some bud on the plant longer for her, or harvest real early. i have heard harvesting real late can decline the thc content to the point there is little to no high. but messing with the harvest time will probably mess up the taste she likes. just get her drunk first, then let her smoke, she will barely feel anything then!! :hump:

on a side note, it is funny the things we do for our wifes. I first read your thread, and I expected all the comments to be rude at best, but RIU really gave some good insight. I am growing for my wife (and family due to cost savings) though she does not see it that way. She likes it, but hates the price. I like it and really dont give a F bout the price. now I have a hobby, and in about 8-11 weeks, we will have an awesome harvest. check out my grow in my sig if you have time. peace and keep 'em green, with THC please!!

wow! lots of responses & fast. just not what I was looking for.(but it is what I expected)
thanks all for your time.

was going to try to ISO hash some buds and smoke the remains afterward to see if it affected taste. she want to cut back or quit smoking cigerettes & we thought if she could smoke joints,it would give her a healthier habit but when she gets high(few times a week) she cant function. hoped to find something she could smoke at work & not end up on the floor.Im not looking for something that looks or smells like pot, just tastes the same & would be legel to grow- wont waste the lights & inside space on something that wont get you high but wouldn't mind a few rows of something in the garden as long as it wont get me arrested

I apologize for the aside, but industrial hemp is legal to grow in MT. Tell the state you are making jewelry. It needs to get tested and there is a harvest window, but legal none the less.

No. Good greens taste like good greens. There's also nothing that smells like pot that she'll be able to smoke at work.

Smoking inert plant matter will just damage her lungs. You need a low potency strain, like Mexican. It still looks, smells, and tastes good but won't get you stoned stupid from sharing a regular sized joint with someone. I know this because I just grew out two Mexican plants and they're surprisingly good with no seeds so far.

Most people have completely missed the point in this thread. In short, the answer to the OPs question is NO.

There is no strain of cannabis PERIOD that is legal to grow, unless you live in a help friendly state or have a prescription which I believe neither apply to the OP.

Why would he want to grow low potency weed? Why would anyone? Unless you are growing legally that is. Its like people that just buy a joints worth or a 20 bag every week. Why? Why take the risk more often when buying an ounce will not only save you money, but lowers the chances of you getting busted.

If someone got caught growing 10 plants that were very low THC, they would get just as much time as if they were growing 10 of the most potent strain in the world. The only difference is how stupid that person will feel for growing shit weed.

My advice to the OP is this....If your wife is trying to quit smoking cigs, she needs to own up to the fact that it is VERY hard to do. Also, it is so much more unhealthy than smoking pot. In my opinion, it sounds like she needs to smoke MORE. People only get "too high" and "non functioning" when they dont smoke much. Have her smoke a decent sized joint, or even a pinner EVERY DAY when she gets home. maybe 2 a night. Then after a bit she will be able to roll small joints for work. But also keep in mind that joints STINK, I personally carry a dugout with me at all times just because of that. It looks like a cigarette and doesn't leave your hands smelling like a roach. My wife recently quit smoking due to pregnancy and I will do everything in my power to keep her from starting back up. Half of my current grow is going into jars to cure just for her. She cant smoke for 2 more months so that weed will be SOOOOO good by then!

Best of luck to you and the Mrs.

In answer to "why grow low potency". Because not everyone wants to be stoned off their ass. It's the same reason why some people drink Bacardi 151 and some people drink wine. I smoke every day out of a bong. I don't even fuck with joints because of the waste.

Also, I doubt his wife wants to become a stoner.

she may not want to become a stoner but the only other option is to have her smoke more and build a tolerance. She is smoking so infrequently that she probably gets stoned on second hand weed smoke. If your not going to smoke but once twice a week your tolerance will be not much different than a first timer. There are lot of weak strains out there I would have to chalk Lowryder 2 up as a pretty weak strain, then again I smoke several bong rips per hour myself when home. If she enjoys the taste and smokes ciggs then like you said have her cut back the tobacco and start to puff a bit more weed and get a tolerance so she isnt stoned out of her mind all the time, I would suggest a Sativa or high sativa ratio over Indica's. I agree with previous poster who suggested you grow something not as strong, Sativa takes longer to harvest but she may enjoy the heady high over the couch lock sleepy high of the Indica's

Very true, I guess I take for granted that everyones tolerance isnt as high as mine. I have not found any strain that gets me so high I wouldnt grow it again. Even if it is super potent, you can always just take 1 hit, but I suppose for some even that may be too much with some strains.

If you want to grow something just for your wife that has low potency, my recommendation would be the original Low Ryder Autoflowering strain. You harvest 55-70 days from seed and the low potency was the main reason LR2 had such success because LR1 is significantly lower. The best thing about autos is no worrying about light schedules. You can have 1 or 2 growing with your moms or clones under 18-24 hours of light from seed to harvest. They stay very short and might be just what the doctor ordered in your case. But man if she doesnt want to smoke pot, then so be it. If she does want to smoke but gets "too high", then she needs to start smoking more, it would be a much better alternative health wise than continuing to smoke cigs.

And sorry if I came off like an ass MrBlanco, I wasnt trying to single anyone out or anything. After reading what I wrote I can see how it sounds. Like I said, I just forget about some people's low tolerance to weed.

I totally agree with you about needing to smoke to build a tolerance. Actually, less more often. Catching a light buzz once a day for over a period of time will build her tolerance slowly so she can learn how to function under the influence. Starting with a strain that has lower potency will help too because she'll be able to smoke more of it, which will help with the habitual part of doing something with her hands while she smokes.

It's all good, man. :bigjoint:

I know what you mean, though. I know novice smokers who've thrown up from getting too high from just a few hits of really good weed. For that fact, I've seen novice smokers get too high from a joint of brick weed.
