bump in harvest time - +rep for experiences

another pix for any still willing to offer suggestions
this trichome picture is from today, the 1st one was about a week ago
there are some amber trics in the lower middle of the picture
you do have to look closely
but it's an ocean of cloudy and clear, mighty tough to pull the plug just yet
and this is the very top of the plant, it's the most mature spot
so i continue for the moment, unless someone can talk me into cutting

up to u dude, y not chop a sample and see what you think?
fair question, this is a clone that i grew from the revegged mother
this pretty much exactly what she looked like at this point, so i'm pretty sure it would be the same
which was quite a bit of head rush, about 1 hour or so, then 3 hours of body
so i'm determined to trim off some the head effect
may try a snip at the end of the week

sounds like a plan! :bigjoint:

thanks for helping, i'd rep you again but i doubt the system will allow it
most of my confusion is that i was sure this clone would ripen faster than the seedling mother, at least i had read this in a few threads
at least for this example, no difference whatsoever
you can literally set your watch by the ripening time, it's that close

It's a genetic copy of the mother plant...no real reason it would take any longer to mature, assuming you vegged out the mother plant until you had alternating nodes and preflowers...

Because it is exactly the same and on the same schedule, you know what to expect. If you wanted to let it go a bit longer, let it go. Judging by your pistils the plant could have been harvested a week ago, but that's why you don't judge by the pistils.

I think the genetics and strain have more to do with what type of high you experience than flowering time though, and if you want more of a body buzz you may need to find a new strain.

Maybe harvest some now and some in a week. Cure it for a month and see if you can notice a difference.

this is the big question, i've seen different opinions
so far, still have a lot of clear trichs, i gotta think they're contributing to the head rush i got from my 1st harvest
so the clears are slowly becoming cloudy, i feel pretty safe with this, from my understanding potency will likely increase as i let those clear cloud up a bit

so i will likely cut the top at 12 weeks, last time i did this at 11 weeks
i don't seem to see a 'ripening cliff', i was worried i'd check a day later and see 25% amber

so maturing out a strain that i've grown once before
good result 1st time, a lot of head and body, nl#5
in no small part due to community help i've gotten on RIU
this time i'd like to 'bump' up the body a fair bit, but not too much!
so i'm thinking 1-2 weeks extra over last time
curious if anyone has a feel for this
i know, 'check the trics', which i do, 2-3% amber right now
but i've found the experience of other growers is even better
so does 1 week make much of a difference, or is 2 the minimum for a noticeable change?
pics of trichomes and plant at 75 days of flower

harvest one week from this pic at the earliest...

or chop whenever half amber

Clear trichs mean THC production has not yet reached its peak.

Cloudy means they have reached peak THC production.

Amber indicates the beginning of a breakdown of THC into CBN.

it's one week later now, looks like i'll cut the top cola at 2 weeks after
this strain takes forever to fully ripen, i swear i could go 20 weeks before i saw half amber
+rep to you and jerry for your help

i like to tidy up threads
it's annoying to find a useful thread, and then you don't see how things turned out

so i'm closing in on 12 weeks of flowering
the damn thing is finally beginning to turn, lot more cloudy trics
and more amber, 5% i'd say
so my plan is to cut at week 12, a couple more days
here's the trics and the plant, didn't get a good shot of amber but they are there
