? about supercroping

I have plants 3 inches away from my 2 growzilla hoods with 2000 watts per hood on a light rail 5 light mover modified with a light rail 3 higher RPM motor they have been on 12/12 for 2 weeks could I supercrop them to get some room this far into flowering and what is the furthest distance south I could go for this bend.Their is no visible damage to the leaves yet I think the stretch is over the plants are Sour Diesel.Thanx for your advice

Well, you can at two weeks in but I usually do it before stretch.
They do get more brittle as they flower, be sure to squeeze the stem where you want the bend. This helps the stem bend instead of snap.

The lowest I would go would be about 1/3 of the plant south.
By the way, if you dont tie it the plant will just grow back in a week or so.

Thanx they are still flexable I im running out of vertical room and have to do something. I have cleared out all lower branches so I wont be helping any lower bud sites I just hope it dosent hurt the yield due to the fact Im 2 full weeks into flower and starting the 3rd week tomorrow Have you had to supercrop after starting flowering do to running out of vertical room? And if so how were your results?

Hey wassup,
Have you considered just tying them down. You can get rolls of twist tie material at the garden store, take a length of it and wrap it around the stem then tie the other end to your container or suitable location below the top of your plant. You can easily bend them over away from the light and not have to worry about the loss in production.

I have tried both and super cropping did effect my over all bud production. The plants were smaller.
Bending and tieing as in LST did not. Maybe thats a better idea since the stems are still flexable.

I have started supercroping the rate of growth is high so I will most likely have to start tying them down while they are still flexible. Thanx for all the feedback

when you bend the stem is it neccasary to pinch it like that or is bending ok as long as the plany reacts the same way

I like to supercrop and then tie down the branch. The branch will always try to straighten itself back out, so just give it a good bend and tie it down where you want it to curve back up.

I also never really see a decrease in yield after supercropping. If anything I get an increase as it allows more light to the lower nodes. You can supercrop all the way through the last couple weeks of flower. I find myself having to do it multiple times if the plant continues to get too tall, with no adverse effects.

Pinching is not necessary, but the brittleness of the stem will dictate what you need to do. I've snapped some smaller branches almost clean in half because I didn't pinch the area I intended on bending. Other times you can just bend that sucker 90 degrees with no problems...

know what you mean about snapping them, i just began bending all of my plants and one of the spots i topped i guess was not ready to be bent and snapped, i am wondering if this is going to hurt the plant, or will it just slow down growth to repair itself?

also i am only bending the main tops not tieing down or anything, and i find that i have to bend them more than once per day i am wondering if this is normal?

If it was still connected somehow and you put it back in place you got a shot at it healing.
But a clean break is harder to set back in place.
